Can you tell us how many colorized episodes are on this new set?
@rp4254 I am not sure of the exact number but it's in the later seasons.
But how many do you actually see on the new Bluray set besides Lucy & the Loving Cup? Is the 16 colorized episodes from the previous DVD release also on this new set? Thanks.
@rp4254 I haven't gotten that far yet but when I do I'll update you.
Glad they didn't forget about I love Lucy. I love that show.
@yearsoffear yes it's so great to have it in hi Def Blu-ray format.
wrong.
@@PolytronikDigital it's all subjective.
@@filmfann1970 wrong again.
A lot of people have always questioned "why doesn't the Hulk fight people with punches? why does he throw them instead? Well, there are 2 reasons 1. If the Hulk punches a bad guy, he will be dead that instantly by one punch 👊 2. I guess because they wanted to tone down the violence if the show attracted a very younger audience.
@@bpheavyrocker1 I totally agree with both assessments and thanks for the comment
One of them is about perfect beings upholding justice in an ideal fantasy world. The other one is the Super Friends.
@@erickleefeld4883 Ha! Excellent summation!

Awesome pick's, mate Love The Party I watched it again with my stepdad the other week it was on the telly. I have lost count of how many times I've seen it over the years. I did pick up The Eureka Blu ray Awhile back now.

It sounds like he would have made a really interesting Jaws 2 . Huge fan but can’t watch any of the sequels unfortunately.
Yes it's a shame we never got to see his version.
I LOVE THE INCREDIBLE HULK BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE A DRAMA JUST ACTION AND DRAMA TOO BUT MOSTLY ACTION.
@@NormanHEILIGIII I'm the exact opposite 😅
Spielberg entirely crosses the line in the dock scene. But its done so masterfully that it works. Hooper takes Brody for a side bar and they completely walk over the line where it is picked up in the other direction for the follow up.

I've somehow never seen a Star Wars film, but this popped up on my feed. It's very touching hearing you talk about this, despite my not knowing anything about it haha <3
Awww thanks. I appreciate your watching and taking the time to comment.
Paper Moon is one of my favorites as well! I have the DVD and watch it a few times a year. I've always wondered what happened to Imogene. I couldn't find anything about her until I found this! Thanks for having her on!
I so appreciate your taking the time to write and watching the video. PJ is as funny as the character she plays in the film in real life. It's an honor to interview her and let folks catch up on her life in the years since. All the best.
I do something similar on my channel letstalkcriterion but it’s only Criterion titles it’s busy with 5 or 6 a month they don’t send review copies so it can prove expensive even more so as I’m in the UK so have to import more. I do prefer US Arrow release choices but I buy most of the Arrow titles latest is Whitnail and I and Narc.
I will check it out. Thanks for the tip. We need folks like yourself to do these sorts of things and get the word out. Kudos to you. Also, thanks for the comments and watching.
I was 6 years old too in 1977 ;)
Nice!! So how does it compare to the recent Paramount bad transfers? This one is good it seems?
I'd say It's on a par with The Crow. If you've seen that one, you'll know what I'm talking about. In other words, they did not drop the ball this time.

Pretty sure May the 4th is all about May the force be with you and never about release date. Never heard it stated otherwise.
You're probably right about that but there are so many misinformed people these days that I'm afraid some of them will take it literally. And they probably have.
You made me look. I have been saying I saw it on May 25 - but I only know for sure I saw it on the first day it was available in my home town. Guessing with that limited number of screens that wasn't the date and I already knew there were long lines at other theaters across the country from the news. Fortunately I have a subscription to a site that collects newspapers countrywide which includes my home town. I now know my personal "May the 4th" is June 17th because the theater ad from the 16th says starts Friday. Figured I wouldn't see it the first day but when we drove by the theater there was no line. Went to the ticket booth and asked if they had sold out. "No, we have seating availble." It was crowded but there were open seats - even two together. Saw it again about two weeks later and people were laughing when R2 gets zapped and falls over. When I saw it the first time it was more like a collective "Awwww! Oh, no!" "Wait a minute. You didn't order your tickets on line? You didn't get to choose your seats before you went in?" Why do I suddenly feel old?
Hahahaha. I know what you mean about feeling old. That's a great story though about when you finally did see it and the reaction to R2-D2 on the second viewing. Like I said in the video most theaters in smaller communities didn't get it until months after it came out so that makes sense that you didn't see it until a month later.
I remember standing in line to see it with my father on opening night. We had a great time and saw it twice opening night. I still have the souvenir movie book they sold at showcase cinema. It's still a great movie. First movies always stand out more than sequels.
Oh that's such a wonderful memory and I hope your father is still around to talk with about it. Thanks for sharing your memory and for watching the video.
May 25th, exactly how I feel. I still have my "Darth Vader Live" button from 1977. :-)
Are you annoyed as I am when people celebrate May the 4th even though that's not even close to when Star Wars was released ? Thanks for chiming in and watching. That's so awesome that you still have your button.
@@filmfann1970 I am annoyed, but resigned to it. Nobody will be able to ignore it when the 50th anniversary rolls around three years from now.
@rikp I don't know. With the way people are rewriting history these days I wouldn't be surprised if May the 4th becomes the official release date.
I watched 👀 the episode married on 📼 vhs video 📼 📹
I'm so old I watched it when it originally aired September 22nd 1978
Good old hulk 😅🎉😂❤😊
Glad you enjoyed it. 😀
I watched my copy of OUATITW and thought the film looked fantastic. The previous Bluray was a lousy mess as far as the quality of the picture. Also it is Leone's best film, bar none. I'm very happy to have this 4K version.
Thanks so much for chiming in on this. I agree the level of detail is much improved on this one but I do miss the grain. I wish a better balance could have been achieved but it definitely could be worse. I'm glad you're happy with the transfer.
I feel sorry for him. He meant well and wanted to do a good job. As he mentioned he was stuck with problems during initial setup not knowing to navigate backside politics of sucha big project.
Yeah I had the same reaction to his story. He was just caught up in a set of very unfortunate circumstances. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@filmfann1970 Awesome, Adam! Pleasure! Will subscribe. Great content and I love movies and music too 😃👍🏻 Yeah, could have been John's big break if it went well with him on board doing, finishing Jaws 2. What he tells about the script makes sense really, a downbeat Amity post the first movie. Cool
@@kevinmyles6369 I really appreciate your subscribing and it's great to meet you. I will post at least one video a week and maybe more depending on my schedule. It's nice to meet some like-minded people and that's what it's really all about
Adam, you and I would have been great mates back in 1st grade. Kong 76 still captures my imagination and I’m 54. I remember saving my money to buy a book about the movie from Scholastic company that sold kids books in school. Another thing we have in common is we have learned from the critical errors of our fathers. I have always made it a point to respect the private property of my children. They are 17 & 14 and we have the best relationship. Thanks for sharing your story and affection for this great movie.
I completely agree that we would have been great pals back in those days. I'm the same age as you so it was the perfect time to experience the movie when we did. I'm glad someone else understands both my love of the film and the damage a narcissistic parent can do and our willingness to not let that cycle repeat. Thanks so much for your comments and for watching the video. Nice to meet you.
Where did you get that Studio Canal version. The cover looks different from any one I can find.
I actually got it from a place called Orbit DVD located in Asheville NC. I ordered it online so I would check. They may still have some available. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Great video, Adam! It's obvious you still have very strong feelings about this movie and the role it played in your childhood and beyond. Sounds like school was not a positive influence on your formative years, of which I can relate. Like you I still remember the excitement I felt leading up to the night my uncle took me to see the movie. I remember the anticipation I felt and the little, innocuous things I did during the day before it was time to go to the theatre. It was a magical time.
Thanks so much for your kind words and comments. I really feel sorry for those who never had a chance to have the movie experiences that we did all those years ago. This video was meant to serve as an example that movies can have a far reaching effect and touch other areas of our lives. I don't know that I would have survived those lonely years if I hadn't had the movies to keep me excited and invigorated. Appreciate your chiming in and sharing your thoughts.
Hi Adam, big fan of your reviews on the movie geeks united podcasts, just wondering if MGU is still making episodes?
Thanks so much for your kind words. Unfortunately Jamey decided he longer wanted to do the show and it ended last August. As a result I branched off and launched my own podcast last September. It's called Adam's Corner and you can find it in the usual places, Apple, Spotify and so on. My Blu Ray and 4K review shows are still posted monthly and I would love to have you listen and comment if you feel so inclined. Thanks again for your thoughtful comments. Great to hear from you.
I've been advising the guys on my King Kong '76 group to keep the "Paramount Presents" 4K for the theatrical cut, and keep the Shout Select for the TV cut (looks better than the StudioCanal and Paramount cuts) and of course all the bonus content.
I wish I had taken that advice. I sold my Scream Factory Edition and purchased the studio Canal version. At least I have most of the extras
@@filmfann1970 because I helped Shout with the BD, my name is on it. I can never sell it. I do have like 14 extra posters I'll never use lol

I 💕😘 this movie and my favorite movie
I'm so glad to meet another fan of King Kong 76
It's unfortunate but I honestly believe the Shout! blu-ray release of KING KONG is about the best we're going to get. It's a significant improvement on any previous disc, but it would have been even better had the print been cleaned up to be free of dirt and scratches. There's not a lot of dirt, but it tends to show up during important scenes (e.g., Kong's first appearance). The film has never looked this wide on dvd before, so THAT's a major plus, and the inclusion of special features for this title are a welcome bonus. Strangely, the anniversary panel discussion included is shot by a stationary camera, even though this discussion has appeared on youTube with a roving camera set-up. While I have longed for a full 4K restoration of the '76 KONG, I have zero interest in the half-assed treatments from Studio Canal and Paramount (and the only reason Paramount is releasing their version is because smaller labels have proven there's an audience for this film which Paramount has long- pretended doesn't exist). The "artwork" on both 4K releases is atrocious enough, but the "mellow yellow" colour grading is absolutely hideous! We really needed a feature-length documentary on the making of the film that would offer the recollections of then still-living members of the creative team (DeLaurentiis, Guillermin, Rambaldi, and Barry) and any surviving cast members. KING KONG '76 was one of the most storied productions in Hollywood history, and the opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of its creation by the people involved has largely been lost. There is, however, still another 4K issue of the film coming in May through an independent horror label, and it wouldn't be a total shock if they devoted more care and attention to their release than the minimal effort Paramount put into its release...
This film looks much better where your picture is darker. You do see the transfer mats as bad.
I would agree with that assessment.
Thanks for this video
My pleasure and thank you so much for watching and commenting. It is much appreciated.
The best King Kong movie
Well obviously I am quite fond of it so you'll get no argument here.
LMAO I know the movie has a lot of problems but I loved it as a kid and I still enjoy it 😂
Ha. We'll it's true I tell ya. 😆
Have you seen this movie with the 1976 Kong? Bye Bye Monkey (1978 Italian-French film) directed by Marco Ferreri and starring Gerard Depardieu about a man who finds a baby chimpanzee in a giant King Kong prop and decides to raise it like a son
