I have to say also, that I admire your keyboard identifying skills! From this 480p video 15 years ago, you correctly identified the VFX ;) This is totally random- but tell me what you think about this: Not sure where you are from or if this commercial plays in your area, or if you even watch much TV like me, but this silly Kars for Kids commercial plays sometimes while I'm watching FOX news. th-cam.com/video/F94DBBJjzko/w-d-xo.html It's a bunch of kids pretending to play instruments. The keyboard is painted bright pink, and I always thought, "hey! that's a VFX" ... but after looking more closely, even though it is definitely an Ensoniq, I can't tell if it's a VFX, or an ESQ-1, maybe a Mirage. LOL this is dumb, but tell me what you think, if you want.
Lois Osman (ne' Nance), on the far right, is the sister of Marvin Nance sitting next to her. Next to Marvin is Becky Nance, his wife. In the recliner is Mary Porter (ne' Nance) the sister of Lois and Marvin. Behind the camera is Rick Porter, son of Mary Porter and at :44 is Nathan Nance, son of Marvin and Becky. They are discussing events in their childhood in Panama where each of them has a different memory of what actually happened. It is the discussion of a cow that was found and accidentally branded, but later was found out to be owned by a certain person who would not take the cow back because it was wrongly branded, and he was asking an outrageous price to buy it back at $350 so the Chinaman butchered the cow and gave the meat away for free. Or something like that. If anyone wants to correct the story, feel free to write it out below.
The music sounds very like a piece by the late Peter Bardens from his 'Seen One Earth album, and also like ''Last Supper' by Howard Jones from his 'Cross That Line's album. Inspired by both??
Good ear man! That is actually my own little take of Howard Jones last supper. The beginning anyway. I'll have to check out Peter Bardens, have not heard of him.
@@riquester1971 Howard Jones is fantastic live, if you get a chance to see his solo piano gigs or his band gigs, he's amazing. The late Peter Bardens was the keyboard player for Van Morrison, Them and prog legends Camel, he had a solo career too, with several excellent albums. He was the first musician I ever saw using a synthesizer live on stage. Check this out, from his 1989 album "Seen One Earth": th-cam.com/video/QjFVtJXDR20/w-d-xo.html And this song he wrote for Camel: open.spotify.com/track/0qs8bmh54iU09HVdk3jJqk?si=vmWzKWhaRJ-i0QEjJVmctQ
That was amazing..........I have a Kruzwell K1000, I am not sure if I should keep it or save it. any suggestions ? I was thinking about getting a new Roland
Thanks! 13 years later. LOL How are you? Yes, it was the Korg Micro X MIDI'd to the Kurzweil. I'm curious, did you ever buy a Micro X? I sold the one in this video, but then missed it so much I bought another one last month. It's such a great sounding ROMpler.
The piano sound is from the K1000, but the celestial type sound was MIDI'd in from the Korg. TheK1000 has some really nice sounds, and you just can't beat the price. I picked that one up for $175.
hi there can i make a question please? when you use it as a VST on a sequencer how many midi channels can you use ?I am asking because I had the Virus TI which was working as a vst but allowed only 16 channels to use on the sequencer plus it was hard to program it roo... thanx in advance.
wow! 14 years later I realize this comment was from you. I have watched and loved a ton of your vids. :) .. I feel honored you commented. Ima little slow in responding. Hope you see this. ;)
The VFX is an awesome synth too
For sure! I miss that thing. I need to start looking around for another one lol

Sure. I'll try to answer your questions..
I fyou dont mind could i ask you some other questions about the micro x since i am thinking of getting one.
I guess I am not sure what you mean by "jungle" actually... but, yeah, depending on your tastes it has some great drum patches.
would the micro x be suitable for drum and bass/jungle?
