You are just so thorough and informed on Solar and the shed to hold it all. I love it! What a grand addition to the property.
How about if it's on heat mode?
No problems with that.
This is starting to look like real work! You are certainly doing the best work of a true professional contractor. Your thoroughness and preparation is impressive.
Man those panels were heavy to move by myself! Would have been a snap with my 30 year old body but not this old and worn-out one that I'm stuck with now. Just trying to keep making progress until I get to the finish line and am actually generating some real quantities of electricity! Thanks for the comment!!!
@ if I had been there I could have filmed more - as long as you had a comfy chair for me!
I told you that you were building an excellent new Man Shack! The interior looks great. And you’re not looking any worse for wear. Well done!
Still a lot more work ahead-as always thanks for watching and your comments!! Happy holidays!!!
Those doggies sleeping together are so cute 🥰 Looks amazing 🤩
Thanks-lots more work still ahead! Have a happy holidays!!!!Thanks for the comment!!!
No where close to being auto mechanically inclined am I. I had this happened a couple of weeks ago, by reading the smart car form and Watch. The couple of the youtube videos, I felt Is confident I could do the job. I purchased the starbit From home depot and went to work. The hardest thing was trying to remove the lower With the key still in place, With patience and a little fineggling The steering column was fully exposed. Again using the starbit, The Ignition solenoid was removed. It was quite simple to remove The sticky rubber From the bottom end of the solonoid. I left the housing off of the steering column In case Further work needed to be done. All was well for about four days, When the pin For a second time. I clean the remaining sticky rubber off the back end of the solenoid and gave the pin.And a good dose of graphite. By turning the key on and off to make the pin work back and forth and add it a little more graphite. After. Waiting in additional three Or four days, I replaced the housing. It's. Now been a Couple of months without any further problems. I saw no need to drill a hole in the steering column housing.
That is excellent finish work! That shed is looking great!
Thanks!!!!
You certainly were very thorough with the finishing touches. I painted barns in Snohomish County after high school and I still remember how the wood just soaked up the paint. Outbuildings are tough! Well done! It is looking great already. You’re getting close now.
Can't wait to be finished-then it's on to installing the solar!!
Nice tip. Thank you 😅😅😅
Glad to help!
Great to see that... I made it too. Plans from WoodPrix helped me a lot :)
That is one sturdy door! No added bracing is required! The explanation of the hinges on the right (which I saw as backwards) really demonstrates how thorough and visionary you are. Well thought out and demonstrated. Nicely done!
It was a Motherfu&*%$##@ just wrestling it into place!!! Bought another hinge as well and installed it today just to make absolutely sure that it wouldn't bust loose over time. Thanks for watching!
Link to the bits from Amazon? How much per panel?
That looks truly solid and well built! Add a stove, microwave, small refrigerator, bed, an easy chair, and flat screen TV and you’ll have one excellent (and sturdy) man cave!
You forgot insulation and an air conditioner! Already have a man cave- it's called an RV! Thanks for watching!!!!
@ true! You would need A/C!
Good evening can someone please help me with my 2008 Smart Fortwo passion it just stop turning on after the battery died put in a new alternator, started safety break switch new spark plugs grease up the clutch and my car still won’t crank or start any ideas please help Txs
Very nicely done. Your editing skills are well displayed as well. It is looking very habital too.
Thanks!!! Glad to be off the ladder for a while!
Great roof prep! You could build up from that sturdy foundation! Well done!
Thanks for watching!
So cutting the end off that makes it manually drain like not having the plug in?
Yes
I have problems with the drain pump in mine squealing when the float switch gets stuck
Your skills and vision are truly evident as you transform the shed into a sturdy room with an exemplary adaptation to the environment, application and neighborhood. Impressive.
And I'm barely getting started!!! Thanks for all your wonderfully-supportive comments!!!
That is great progress! It’s nice to see that you have your two helpers out there with you. Nice to compare the affects of weather on wood between the PNW and Arizona (“Arid Zona?”).
Arid zona-I like that! Thanks!!!!!
If i use andoor the waters not coming out?
Great work! Your Timelapse makes it seem like you got it done in a casual day and you’re almost done. You make it look easy, but the structure shows an impressively solid grasp of the structural integrity and complexity. Well done.
I can guarantee by all the aches and pains within my body that it took some real effort! Glad to be off the ladder for a while! Thanks for watching and the comment!
@ it’s such impressive work and I’m happy to watch.
Just had draining issue myself might try the physical fix you showed with the spout part as it is design flaw with it being the only hole in and out for air n' water Granted gotta do it with hand tools
Good luck-haven't had a further problem with mine since I did the fix.
What a project! You have it down to the bones and are adding more “bones” to it. You clearly demonstrate the need for bracing! Impressive work!
I like the build it back up part a lot more than the tear it down part. Now the fun begins! Thanks for the comment!!!!
That made me tired! I think you had birds singing along when you started. Your comment on a complete cleanup at the end of the day was a demonstration of an excellent work ethic. Well done. There’s already better light inside too.
Dropped some sweat with that chore! The birds singing did make the task that much nicer-there was a lot more of them that I edited out as well! Thanks for watching and the comment!!!!
That looks like a serious project! Plus it looks like a two-person job! Cooler temperatures are on the way.
Now you see why I waited for cooler temps to arrive-lots of physical labor involved!
@@Thecoutch oh, I understand completely! We’re only just now seeing Fall-like weather.
It looks good and it is firmly set. Sadly you cast a big shadow over your work, so it is hard to see the details.
The problem with having no windows! Will rectify that soon hopefully! Thanks for the comment!
I bought a wave 2 back in August and I'm on my 3rd one waiting for the 4th to get here. They have all been bad out of the box. And trying to deal with their customer service is unbelievable bad
Wow-sounds like you've had all the bad luck. Mine is still working fine after I fixed the drain issue. Hope your luck takes a turn for the better!
Oh wow, this happened again on our new 453. Same fix….but this time the rubber was very sticky and took a few digs to get it out.. Thanks again John, that’s 2 i owe you.
Hard to believe that they keep using that same flawed design-lots of automotive engineers have no real world experience working on cars.
The metal roofs sure look great - and the longevity has to be much better!
The longevity is the true advantage of going with metal-a properly installed metal roof can last up to 50 years!! Thanks for the comment!!!
I do love the opening shot! That shed is just a blank pallet and it is waiting for your artistry to become useful and admired once again!
Trying to take advantage of some seasonally-cool weather to get started on this project (Finally!!) Unfortunately it looks to be just a brief respite before temps climb back up again. Thanks for the comment!!!
@@Thecoutch Our Indian Summer!
I like the minimalist design more. I’m impressed with how long you’ve avoided this excellent opportunity. You have a great sense for how to use this hidden asset.
I even considered just removing it altogether but decided that it is nice to have that extra storage. Soon as it cools off a bit more I'm going to get on it in earnest. thanks for the comment!!!!
I am still surprised by that "secret shed" behind your Mom's house. What else are you hiding back there? Great to see you back on line.
I had this problem last night for the first time. I’ve only used my Eco flow AC unit maybe 8-10 hours and I’ve used the heater function probably 12 hours. I didn’t have the hose connected because I was under the impression I would be getting some kind of a light or something on the screen that told me it was time to drain it, and I thought based on some other videos that Eco flow was put out that there was a function to drain it. It would notify me. I could plug the hose in and it would drain, but it puked all over my camper floor last night when I could not get it to put out heat we saw the little dripping cup icon. When I went to move it it a lot of water came out. It was definitely full And today I’ve got outside draining and there’s water draining out of it. The odd thing was when I plug the hose in to drain it. Water was coming from around the outside of that plug that the hose attaches to.
I just got back from our trip to Redmond, Oregon and was just compelled to watch this again. Fantastic!
I'll tell mom-she'll love to hear it!
Mine works perfect. Been over a year.
I didn’t even know that shed was back there! I guess we never did a full property inspection.
Out of sight- out of mind!
@@Thecoutch I had to watch this again on a larger screen, because of my surprise about this well-kept secret. It's off that there are no windows all along that back wall.
Thank you sir… mine got stuck and just thumping in that area released it whilst turning but I’ll do the preventative measure you suggested. Kudos to you sir!
Glad to help-haven't had a single problem with mine since I removed the rubber stopper.
@@Thecoutch so your direction to the problem was spot on. It’s often referred to as “sticky button” syndrome. The “rubber” cover has degraded and the structural integrity has failed and it’s gone to mush. So I followed your guidance. I’ve made a video and will put it up soon and show you as the inspiration. Thank you sir! Have a blessed week ahead and thanks for sharing
This was soo helpful.. hint... on max it pushes out the water automatically without tilting
Glad that it helped!!! Thanks for the comment!!!!
Going to have to try this. Thank you!!!
I used my wave2 for heating the bedroom and the living room in my house last winter. I have it on a cart with wheels. This summer I’ve been using it to cool my living room. I run it off solar power all day. It’s been 100 degrees most days lately here in Eastern WA. My home hvac doesn’t come on until about 2 or 3 pm. It’s set on 75 degrees. I have always only had the exhaust tube going out the window. I never hook up the intake tube. I do use the drain tube into a bucket. It produces over a gallon of water a day. Humidity is about 40% but I tried running it without the drain tube. It filled with water then sent me a app warning and shut off. It doesn’t seem like a good idea to put the intake tube out the window because that air is very hot. It’s not dusty here though.
I agree it’s a handy little unit and very portable but expensive. I bought one and the battery when they first came out. I used it all winter heating my bedroom and my living room in my home. My home is only 980 square feet yet it’s 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It’s very well insulated with 2 by 6 wall studs. Now it’s summer and I’m keeping it in my living room because it cools down at night here. My home Evac unit is set on 75 degrees and it’s been 100 + degrees everyday for the past week. The hvac comes on around 2 or 3 pm. I also have a small portable swamp cooler in my electronics room helping keep it cool.

Hi John, thanks for producing your videos on the Wave 2. I've been on the fence about buying one of these given the many conflicting opinions. You seem to strike a fair balance on the pros and cons, without the burden of being sponsored. Now that we're in the middle of summer, thought I'd ask about how the new duct setup is working out. Has your opinion changed, and might you now recommend one of these for a camper? (In my case, a camper van.)
New duct system is working well and unit is in daily use for me without further issues. Lot of hours on it now so no issue there. Would work for small area applications in my opinion-good luck!
@@Thecoutch Very good, thanks again!
Does anyone use a maxxair fan with this device. If so do you use it with the vent open blowing air outside or do you keep it shut on “ceiling fan” mode. Thanks
Seems like the machine operates and has better cooling numbers when the van is blasting its AC. Then when van gets shut off, cooling numbers balloon. Wondering if getting one of those Icybreezy things combined with the Wave2 would eliminate the humidity inside the van and allow the wave2 to work efficiently. think since its around 80%+ humidity outside its tough for this machine to keep up with the cooling process but seemed to work fine with lower humidity last week
Blanketing off back section of the van at set bed to try and confine the cool air to a smaller space. Keep u posted
This is a great compilation of Uncle Ed 👏 I enjoyed watching this. Happy 90th in Heaven
