Rygu Festival in Esmeralda (Elements III: Dance of the Heavens)

Apologies for the video quality early on, the sandstorm effect in the desert messed with it somehow.
Though not shown here, during the playable part of the festival, you can participate in events that showcase Nevena and Dia's talents - namely, sword dancing and a triple jump challenge - in which you can perform tricks and directional flips with precise timing. You can also take part in a game of "Star Ball," which is sort of like a five-way version of volleyball.
In the original story (written in 2004), the festival sequence was actually part of the first chapter; but for the actual game, I moved it to chapter three so the plot could be off to a quicker start.

In its earliest stages of development, E7 was to feature interplanetary travel. Later on, time travel became a prominent element of the plot, and so I thought things were getting a bit too busy. Because both E4 and E5 utilize class systems, I wanted there to be both visual and functional distinctions between them. So for E5, the interface has more of a Party Ball-inspired aesthetic, also listing class skills.     all the Rygar with fantasy names and one of them is named Kevin. lol The chapter card at the end reminds me of those midrolls in some anime, I think it's where the commercial break is supposed to go.

      Yep, E3 was originally written as anime screenplay. :) I'm following the original script very closely!

    The main theme at the very beginning of this castle reminds me of the ruined town of Seles from Legend of the Dragoon, where it is under attack. Very well done! <3

      Yes, it uses a Mode 7 script by MGC. I got it a long time ago, though (years), and I'm sure there have been updates and revisions since. Every now and then, the game crashes in Mode 7 (also when I experimented with it in E2), so I'm leary of using it in a finished product, but it sure looks cool. Then again, if it's been updated (probably), this issue may have been fixed.

      I recorded it myself and then raised the pitch by multiple levels using sound editing software (GoldWave, awesome program by the way).
