The United States Geological Survey mandated watershed studies to measure runoff and try different forestry measures out to examine their effect on drainages. There is a lot of information on this subject on the internet if you are interested. At these coordinates you'll find a Weir and Water Gaging Station.

Important: On the way down, I saw a trail closed sign. Turns out I had missed it on the way up as I joined it from a different section. This section of the preserve is currently closed to all travel, so don't travel on it.

I'm happy you enjoyed it. The Model T Touring is almost 100 years old at this point, so that car has been abandoned for a long time.
As of 02/02/2024 the structure is no longer standing.

Yep, cinnabar was mined here. Tunnel goes in about 500 feet and splits in two directions. There's another tunnel a few hundred feet away.

It is located near the intersection of Arrieta Wash (jeep trail) and Cumero Road. This is near town of Sasabe, AZ.

That’s it. Built in 1905 I think, and closed in 1960. Much of the old rail bed is still there. The old railroad depot building is noe the city library.
Thanks for the information, was driving around the desert and stumbled upon it. Saw more of the RR on Google Earth. I’ll have to check more of it out next time I’m in Tombstone.
