I love sharing reviews of newly published games; solo games; retro games from the 70s/80s; expansions for well-known games that don't often get highlighted; and games in my collection that might be a few years old, but that I still love.

I'm late to the party, but thanks for a shout out.
Those pins look like cribage pins.
👍
My favorite game from button shy is Skulls of Sedlec. Solo or 2 or 3 player. And based on real situation Bone Church': Located in Czech city Kutná Hora, Sedlec Ossuary is adorned with around 40,000 human skeletons. Eerie chapel: The bones were taken from the huge cemetery that encased Sedlec during medieval times.
Can this card game be played with a normal deck of cards?
I’d never considered that, but possibly?
There are six suits of 11 cards.
@@Calibursoul so… no? Are all suits important?
@alixx_legenddark_xx2819 🤷♂️ That's for you decide. I've never played it with four suits. I'm just providing you the information needed to play.
If this game is in your top 10 solo card deck games, then what are the other nine games? Can you recommend more games like this? This game is something that I think I've been looking for a long time. Thanks for the review!
You have a knack for finding beautiful games. This looks like a relaxing game. It is nice to know about the promo tiles and the differences between the two versions.
This looks like a great 2 player game - thanks for sharing.
NIce to see a portable 2 player game. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful artwork. Fun, quick, little game. Thanks for sharing. Just checked out the racing, set collection game: Fast Sloths.
Thanks for pointing out that this is the same game as Morels but with prettier artwork. What a great recommendation that you have enjoyed it for a decade! It would be lovely if it came with game mat that was a forest path. :)
Nice review. Finally one that out the theme in focus also! Thanks so much!
1st comment!!!!!
Did You ever tried Mini Rogue? You would love it.
Never tried it. Easy to get?
This is a fun game. Thank you for taking the time and doing this video. It is helpful that you show a close up of the game pieces and you explain in detail everything that comes with this game. First time seeing your channel, I will check out your other videos.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate your kind words.
Thanks for reviewing this, it's on my buy list now!
Hope you can source a copy!
awesome, i hope that is a rom for that game
How many BS games have you tried roughly you say?! It’s so hard to narrow down to a top 10 especially with so many great new ones coming out etc. Really enjoying the micro game /solo content - long many it continue 👍👌
Much appreciated! I think I’ve tried almost 35 button shy games. Yes I agree, hard to narrow down for sure .
Would you consider making a top 10-20 solo games video? (Not limited to button shy games)
Definitely! Thanks for the suggestion. Stay tuned….
Also I know you can lay cards on top but can you tuck under (I know this is not allowed in sprawlopolis)?
Do you have to use the face up side or can you turn the card over so you get an unknown choice on each turn too?
Oh, there is/was an app for this? I see. So you like appstract games. 😄
I play this solo 🩷
Rove being number one, i enjoy Ancient Realm a lot too :) ever tried Galdor's Grip or Dragons of Etchinstone ?
Yep! Absolutely love Galdors Grip.
WH40K. Omnissiah: 😇 "I have such sights to show you!" Adeptus Mechanicus: 🤗 "Ah, it's our Machine God, Deus Mechanicus, showing us a glimpse of the path to heaven, so very nice of him..."
😊
For the few times i saw morels i rather have this, its way prettier
Absolutely agree
It doesn't matter who roles the tentacle it goes to the caster.
Great video!
Thanks again!
Great video! Keep it up :)
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Hi again. Just order this.i also adore the art work. These games are so.pretty on the table. I have all except urbion but I think he is redoing it.
Sharing the love with you. I have the under ground and play this with all expansions. The underground is realy tense.
Hey thanks so much! Gee, playing with all expansions in is something I haven’t been game enough to try yet!
The giant one is great too! My kids love it!
Have always wanted to get the giant one 😀
I absolutely love this game. Love the decision-making.
Absolutely. I get immersed in those decisions!
Cool little game, I really like it! It looks like it's a hard one to find though. Very good video mate, really enjoyed this.
Thanks heaps! Try eBay. I’m sure I saw a few copies there.
Ragemore is one of my favorites as well. If you have a 2nd deck, the designer has an unofficial coop variant on bgg. I would check it out. I have 2 decks pnp for this purpose. I don't have a physical deck being out of print currently.
Wow thanks for the info about the 2 deck co-op version! Definitely checking it out.
Great video. I am watching this as I grab a copy for the Feb 2024 reprint campaign. Have you played Pentaquark from button shy as well? That game and the solar flare expansion were designed by Mike Mullins. I can see many similar puzzle elements in both games.
I went for this as well - I love the idea of learning the German terms by osmosis and the theme is great.
Absolutely!
Give Ancient Realm a try! Civilization in your pocket!
Thanks! Heard great things about it.
My favourites are - Food Chain Island, - Forest Sky take a couple of play to get it but it’s always in my travel backpack - Wonder Tales and - Skull of Sedlec
Glad to see Forest Sky in there. That one is growing on me too.
Hobbits don't cooperate? Well, that's the LotR theme blown out of the water. As it's FFG I imagine that they received a design they liked and used this theme because they had the license.
Definitely feels a bit strange hobbits not cooperating. But game is fun and plays well.
I got this from your recommendation. So cute!!! Love it
You made my day! So glad you love it!
Its great when a game has dice but uses something other than the standard numbers. Plus its LOTR!
Definitely! And I love how the bonus abilities at each point on the track makes thematic sense 😊
Excellent video and an interesting looking game. Love a good roll and write! Great travel games
Thanks! I’m rediscovering this little gem 😊
where is a trustworthy site to buy the german version?
Amazon
I'm always impressed by the creativity of these games. I just own three and don't play often, but there's not a lot of choices in France right now. Ragemore seems fantastic !
Yes, the creativity to get a game to work with such minimal components is quite a feat..
Apologies folks, 'buchfink' doesn't mean Book Finch (how crazy of me!), but: Buche (“a beech”) + Fink (“finch”)
Thanks for the shout out in the video! This game looks lovely. And I had a similar issue when filming a video for CuBirds - apparently I don't know my Blue Jays from my Magpies. Although that is way way easier than Buchfink! Oh well!
@@GameLikeAMother haha thanks, Anne! Yeah, bird names tangle me up often. By the way, speaking of magpies, there are two wandering around my yard as we speak. Piepmatz is definitely worth a play 😊
I like the theme of birds gathering around a feeder. Thats a unique concept.
Sure is. It was one of the mechanisms that attracted us to this as well.
Love your videos. Keep them coming!!!
Much appreciated!
Does this have a solo variant?
No unfortunately not. At least not included in the rules.
