Beautiful Music!!!
I love this rendition!
Jesu, son most sweet and dear, Mean the bed you lie on here, And that afflicts me sore, For your cradle's like a bier, Ox and ass are with you here, And I must weep therefore. Jesu, sweet one, show no wrath. I have not the poorest cloth To wrap you in its fold. Not a rag in which to wrap, Hold you safe upon my lap, And shield you from the cold.
One of the best. Surely my beloved one. Congratulations to all, director, chorus and the arranger.
3:16 Bellissimo
Heard this for the first time today. Lovely, ethereal. 'Tis a marvel to still discover new Christmas music at age 74.

Sometimes one stumbles upon a gem.

Jesu, sweet one, show no wrath, I have not the poorest cloth to wrap you in its fold. Not a rag in which to wrap Hold you safe upon my lap and shield you from the cold.
Thank you so much for the words to the beautiful piece of music.
Beautiful lyrics and music
Awesome, I was also stopped in my tracks when I heard this beautiful song. I love it, it just makes me so calm!
And most surely NOT by Colin Bumbry. The arrangement is by Jackson Berkey.
Wrong. It's an original song by Australian composer Dr. Colin Brumby, arranged by Berkey. Melody and chords are by Brumby, not 'Bumbry'
My sis is in the choir now
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard! I heard it for the first time on XM Satellite Radio's "Holiday Pops" channel and was mesmerized. I had to stop what I was doing and just sit and listen to the beauty of the voices, the chorus, the harp. Thank you so much for posting. I wish I could get the words to this, as I have trouble making it out.
I concur, Buckize68. Nothing under heaven compares to the voice of a soprano.
Me too- I cried at it's beauty -thank you, Lord for coming to this earth to save us.
I too heard it on the XM channel several years ago while driving. I had to pull over and listen. I went home and wrote to the Louisville Chorus to tell them how evocative and gorgeous it was. I was unable to purchase their CD with this recording on it since it was from a past Christmas season but thanks goodness for TH-cam. I feel blessed each time I listen to it.
So Beautiful!!!
