This Chevy was fast however the car could not make a good pass and this day experienced an "issue." The rear axle exited the car in the action and did a number on the sheet metal. That pickup looked pretty nice and was for sale at the time of the accident. Here's a video of the incident and aftermath. Fortunately there were no injuries. Step back in time watching this video. The late 80s... Enjoy

I've been doing some maintenance and sorting recently. The original B&M 11" converter developed a crack and was visually out of round with the engine running and leaking. Upon some recommendations from a key advisor(Dave Worthington,) I called PTC, talked with Ballard and asked for their idea for an appropriate replacement convertor that would better match the full tilt capacity of Joe's 425/45...

Here for your viewing pleasure is the 1971 Oldsmobile 442 that my dad bought in Mar of '85. It's much better to raise hell with the car on camera once and get to rewatch the video a million times than constantly be out riding it's ass. I'd like to be a custodian of the car in my time and maintain it for my son and future generations to enjoy. Mondello was the last one inside this 455. There I w...

1971 Oldsmobile 442. Joe Mondello bought the car from my dad around 1990 for his wife Mary. The Mondellos had the car repainted along with several revisions including the current 455. This engine is based off of a 425 block with the .921 lifters, 9 to 1 compression, Engle cam etc. Rear has 3.42 gears. The car still has clods of rubber under the rear from it's days at the dragstrip when my dad o...

I built a red one just like this in ‘91., 455 steel crank, Comp Cams 292H, Mondello heads, Hooker headers, Performer with modified Rochester, T-400, 3:42 rear. Ran 12.0 thru the mufflers on street tires. I got stupid and sold it. Enjoy, my friend. Few know the thrill . . . and painted my valve covers too, for the “Whuuuuu? Factor😎

Bet you think of the good times with your father every time you look at that beauty. The gift that keeps on giving. Thanks for sharing. My dad worked at an Olds dealer when I was a small boy. I've been a huge fan these 60 odd years later and am looking for the one that has my name on it.

This car is still for sale by me in Florida.😢 I was entertaining it until we got nailed by Idalia. I'm just finishing my 69 up now. Crank/rods and heads just had to go back out because of the storm surge. Luckily that was about the worst of the damage on the car but my home is gutted along with part of my shop now. Toy buying days are done for a moment.

@beanssomers7930 same exact bench, I believe Jade Green interior, which is the darker green, and Mondello built 455, which obviously he did a lot. Car was listed for 65k and was down to 50k. When I just looked it up it's gone. Was up for the whole summer. Happy you still have yours. Beautiful car.

I love Olds. I had a gold 70 W-30 4sp in HS in 1978 and it ran a best of 12.61 open headers and slicks on King of the street night @ Green Valley in Fort Worth. It was by far the fastest Streetcar out there that night.

That 71 is an eye catcher, the body and the grill has an iconic look . The 455 cu in, carburator was a 4 brl quadra jet she was a monster of power, Just get up and go! Especially with that and never forget! the 4 speed tranny, man ,I'm drulling here. 390s gears at the rear end, limited slip possi traction, What a sweet ride, classy, dressy to go out in and fun in the sun. My era had a nice selection of cars back then.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.:-((((

Looked more like a '68 olds hood... And the beet goes on.... Sounds like idle a little high not bad though mine a little ruffer & liked to stall when idle to long but had Edelbrock Torker single plane intake manifold.. What letter heads on this one ?? Looks , Runs , Sounds great I pulled mine off road 4:56:1 locked Posi & 4000 stall converter was a little to wild with manual steering & breaks... To many tickets shifting into 2nd. & 3rd.. running 1/4 mile @ 12:50's @ 104 m.p.h in '67 442 motor is '66 425 c.i. punched 40 over making it a 442 c.i. @ 500+ h.p. also got '67 Cutlass Supreme Ragtop with 330 done with 4-speed and 3:90:1 Posi 400+ h.p. running 13:70's @ 90mph. W-30 automatic grind camshaft and #4 330 heads rework with 455 valves and 403c.i. connecting rods ... Just love the sound of olds they have there own dusty sound...

Car's been sitting in my garage for 35 years, no time, no money, had to raise 3 little boys on my own, couldn't waste money on her (TA) while raising them, hopefully some day, engine is in, transmission is in, just needs a bunch of time and money to make her Purr again like back in the day.
