BRIGHT ANGEL POINT - NORTH RIM OF THE GRAND CANYON.
Over the past few weeks some of you have questioned if I ever visit places other than cemetery's. The answer is yes. I often visit historical sites and other places of interests as I move about the country, and yes I have video from most of those visits. The problem is I recorded most of these videos for my own personal memories. I never intended for any of them to be posted here. However because a few of you have ask for them here you go. Going forward I when I record these types of videos I will take some extra care to record them in a fashion that is more suitable for appearing here. Finally, with that being said, I have no intention of deviating from the primary focus of this channel and that is cemetery's and the graves of notable people.
Last year, I had the opportunity to visit the National Parks of Colorado and Southern Utah. Over the years I have visited the Grand Canyon several times, and all of those visits have been to the South Rim. During my 2023 trip I had the opportunity to visit the North Rim. The views are just as amazing and it is not as crowded as the South Rim. This short video was record along my hike down the Bright Angel Trail to Bright Angel Point.

Some folks have pointed out that the Name of this channel is "Tombstone & Travels" and that in addition to the Tombstone Videos they would like to see some video from my travels. I did post some travel videos during the early days of this channel. Those videos didn''t get the number of views that the Tombstone Videos did. But a few su...

Change of pace from your usual. In spite of all of our problems, we live in the country that is the best that this planet has to offer. It is important to stop and smell the roses.
Exactly, we live in a beautiful country filled with breath taking scenery. Like one of my high school teachers once told me, "Life is a journey, You better slow down and take time to enjoy it" Hope your travels are safe and enjoyable. Thanks for watching and for your always kind comments.
I love Lucy Rip ❤

Yes, he is. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
I’m from about 20 miles south of Lynchburg Va and as a kid would watch Ivan wrestle at the Lynchburg city armory do you have in pictures or better yet videos of wrestling at the armory ??? Thanks … GOD BLESS !!!
Hello, I spent most of my time at the Old Starland Arena in Roanoke, but occasionally made it to the Lynchburg Armory. I had some old Photos that I took at both the Armory and at Starland however those Photos were destroyed in the 1985 Flood. One person I remember was a wrestler the was always referred to as "Lynchburg Policeman" Bobby Williams. Thank You for watching and for your comment.
I remembered quite a few of those names you mentioned. I do remember The Russian Bear. I loved Hulk Hogan and wasn’t fond of Andre the Giant…not saying he was bad, just one I loved not liking. Thanks for the memories!!!
Thank You for watching and for you kind and interesting comment.
Ivan Koloff was a great heel.

Thank You for watching and for your comment.
I'm sure they had the whole cremation urns cemented. May she rest in Peace...Loved Her
Wonder why the brothers are not buried together
Since Clifford and Davey's death were sudden and unexpected, I would say that their sites were selected base on cemetery availability. That's just a guess.
That's our multi-talented pup Maddie! She loves performing and loves her mama. Thanks for posting this.
Thank You and your wonderful pups for a absolutely great halftime performance. Maddie and her mates were great. Hope to see you all again down the road. Also thanks for watching and for commenting.
I sure do remember JYD. My mom loved watching him wrestle!!!
I am currently editing another wrestling video that you might remember. Thank you for Watching and for taking the time to comment.

Yes, These guys were really entertaining and seemed to really enjoy their time on the court.
Don’t think that that’s dog not having fun because he is they are working dogs and they need to work to be happy. They’re not like a St. Bernard who can lay down all day I know because I had one.

The Jubal Early Homeplace has been restored, and is open for visitation from April until November, on Sunday's from 1pm-5pm. It's an interesting place to visit, located at 455 Old Hollow Lane, Hardy, VA 24101, just off the Jubal Early Highway, VA Rt 116, in Franklin County VA. When General Early first returned to VA, he was on an arrest list of the occupying Union Army. He hid out in the attic of his old home, secreted there by the new owners. Although he was never married, he did have a lady friend, Julia McNealy, who bore him 4 children before the war. After the war, Julia married another man, had 2 more children, and moved her family to WV. Jubal's children did carry his surname, even though the parents weren't married, and he has several descendants living.
She was an amazing comedian. If it was not for Lucielle Ball, Star Trek would not have become what it is today.
I've been to that very spot! Thanks for reminding us all of our heritage...

Oh my! Blast from the past! I had teenage sons at home when Dean Smith was a coach. We all watched the games on TV. What fun that was. Now I am a grandmother and I have moved on into a very active retirement. I was shocked to see Coach Smith was the topic of this video. I wasn't aware that he had passed on. I guess none of us live forever. Still a shock. Thanks for the video.
I too am retired and like you remember watching Coach Smith and his Tarheels. I never did like the 4-corners but I must admit it worked most of the time. You are correct that nobody lives for ever. Thank You for watching and for you awesome comment.

GP show is on the Pluto Network every night. They show several episodes in a row. One of my fav episodes is where Sgt Hacker bets Carter that he can't hold his temper for 24 hours. So funny. Allen Melvin was a great actor. The episode where Carter thought Gomer was dying was classic. It was a horse that was dying and Carter got the wrong report. The episode where Carter went home to see his Mom and Gomer accidently got knocked out on the plane was hilarious. Carter kept seeing Gomer all weekend and it drove him crazy lol. Carters Moms house was the same house used on the Andy Griffith show. Me and my Son met Jim Nabors after one of his concerts in Myrtle Beach back in 2003. He signed an autograph for us and we got a picture with him. It's been framed and hanging on my wall for 21 years. Fun times. Thanks for the video. Frank Sutton was perfect as Sgt Carter.
Thank You so Much fur sharing your favorite episodes with us. I remember all of them and still laugh at them today. Thank You for Watching.
I have a copy of the video when JD told everyone that he'd left word not to have an organ at his funeral-one of the greatest bass singers that is truely missed.
The Look on J. D.'s face when the Organ started playing was priceless. He was one of the greats. Thanks for watching and for your wonderful comment.

Taking time from our travels, I watched this video. I did not know of these people, but they had a life, and you are remembering them. Hubby and I are in Maine - not in our winter home in Florida, which has sustained some damage, but we are waiting for gasoline and food in the grocery before heading south - and, inspired by your videos, will be visiting some cemeteries in the Portland area. To be continued... LOL
Enjoy your time in Maine. There was quite a bit of Hurricane Damage in Western North Carolina, Upper East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. I had a trip planned to the Asheville and Bryson City North Carolina and have had to put it on hold for a while. Hope thing improve in Florida so that you can get set up for the winter. Safe travels and thanks for watching and for your wonderful comments.
Thanks for the video. I live in Virginia and I'm thinking of riding my motorcycle soon to this same location to see his Harold's grave. Thanks for the video.
