How do you nominate the GW to be the Discovery Server for Linux servers behind a Gateway? The Wizard only allows you to select Pools.
What is the maximum number of SCOM Gateway servers per Management Server?
Is this MP compatible with SCOM 2016?
The current version of the NiCE Log File Management Pack runs on SCOM 2012 R2, SCOM 2016, and SCOM 2019. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the teaching
After slamming my head against the wall for almost a week now, I finally managed to create a logfile monitor with this MP that works, thanks to this webinar. Now I'm probably going to have to learn how to use RegEx as well, but I'm sure I'll manage somehow.
Yes, the tool is basically testing the regex pattern that the user is specifying. Log File MP uses industry standard regex pattern query language and so the issue comes down to educating on how one can build regex patterns. There are numerous links from Microsoft that will help you on regular expressions and the Quick Start Guide has the links to many of them. The white papers also give some examples on how you can do this including the actual MP. This way one can just import the MP and test is to see how regex works and even tweak it around to understand it more.Hope that helps.
Yeah I looked at a Microsoft guide yesterday. Managed to get almost everything to work so far. I have until the end of the year, so there's no rush. Thanks for the reply though.
Enjoyed the video but I felt like it had gaps. More detail would be appreciated on building the regex expressions and using the tool. Why doesn't the log file work in the testing tool?

They also have more example scenarios of using Regex and the Regex Testing tool. The Log File MP Quick Start Guide also gives you more details about Regular Expressions.
