i wish they were easier to do on a joycon. ik you can press 2 buttons at once for a short hop but that's not very good

I dont like to think of it a smash "killer". It's more like a lifeboat, saving the melee community from the community-killing flood caused by nintendo. We can now rest easy, with the safety of our tournaments assured.

Hey guys you know how sometimes we want Melee to be at Evo and other times Nintendo says we can't play Melee at the Evo? Well I was thinking. Instead of always being uncertain about could we have played Melee at tournaments like Evo why not just stop having tournaments so Nintendo is always happy and not risk anything?

Probably a terrible idea, but it would be interesting if there was a mod that removed the rock and fire transformations. Since those are both the bigger offenders when it comes to bugs and stage design. Then it'd just require Nintendo not to notice. The stage would still be changing to pass a casual observation, but players wouldn't be subjected to the clipping issues or infinites in those variants

Has anyone seriously considered a third option of just banning Stadium entirely?

I’m so glad someone else believes that stadium should be unfrozen. I personally see a lot of untapped combo potential with the transformations, but that’s probably just me.

Honestly I'd legalize Stadium, not bother with Frozen Stadium for consistency, get Slippi patched to use normal Stadium, and then legalize Kongo Jungle 64. Legit that stage shouldn't be banned. Low tiers will be low tiers who gives a shit.

i think that pokemon stadium as always a wild card would make it fun to watch but horrible to play, imagine flying out with the hopes to win with money on the line, just to be trampled by melee jank.

nintendo didn't support the melee scene for years, so why should the community suck up to them and let them restrict the game now? melee should be a community-centered thing, free from corporate meddling from a company that doesn't have the competitive scene's best interest at heart

my local is frozen stadium, luckily our regional TO forces unfrozen so if we go to major we aren't caught with our pants down.
