Thank you for sharing your incredibly deep story of trials. I think the nurse could have suggested you counsel with a trusted spiritual leader about your concerns instead of heaping such a condemnation on you. I will say though, it did prompt you to ask for the anointing with oil and prayer. The frozen chosen 😂... hilarious and true. I work for a Presbyterian church and they are not very spirit filled let's just say. That is typically the more charismatic churches. We have been Baptists for some time and one of our good friends was very sick with hepatitis, and he did the same thing you did and called for laying on of hands and anointing with oil too. They were kind of awkward about it but did it, and he also was healed. These "stiff" churches need to heed the verse about having a form of Godliness but denying its power in my opinion. I don't know, but if the Bible says to call the elders to pray and anoint you with oil, it should be the norm.
Oh wow, how uncanny that you work for a Presbyterian church! I do love my old Presbyterian church, they were incredibly supportive of me during that time. I have an eternal debt of gratitude to them … but yeah, it was still awkward lol but also very comforting. My church and other churches in the community prayed for me so much during that time, I’ll never forget the prayers; I lived off them and felt them. How interesting that you know someone who went through a similar experience. Uncanny! About your being Baptist-I always say the Baptists have the best hymns about the blood of Jesus 😁😄
@Readingthebibletocats I will say that the church I work for has a very caring congregation. They seem to rally around their fellow members in times of need. It is such an important part of being in the Body of Christ. Intercessory prayer is a powerful thing! The Baptists do like a hymn about the blood of Jesus! Our church has a very contemporary style of worship, but they do insert an old hymn in there everyday Sunday. I like that they are keeping them alive and teaching them to the younger generations so they won't be lost.

Your transparency is such a blessing. I feel so bad for you about how the dialysis nurse treated you when you were so ill. What a mean person 🥺. I don’t understand how supposed believers act so jerky. I have an update on Esther. Her ear infection is gone in both ears praise the Lord. She is scheduled to go in for a cyst removal this Wednesday morning. She was scheduled for March, but the vet doesn’t want to wait. She doesn’t want it getting infected. She will have a dental then as well. Please keep my sweet girl in your prayers. ❤️🐶🙏 Also please pray that my anxiety stays at bay. What a thing to heap on you while you were suffering!! 😨 I have MS and have wondered if it was a sin I committed in my life but I believe it is something that just "is". Genetics & environment. I have had my challenges with it but there are a lot of people A LOT worse off than I am. My diagnosis 13 years ago has actually drawn me closer to Him. ☮🙏

I’m glad you know now that He loves you and it’s not some sin that caused it. I struggle, though, with anxiety related to health stuff and God. @@Readingthebibletocats Thank you for praying for me!! 🥰Yes, I was diagnosed 13 years ago, although I have actually had it for 30 years. It took a long time to get a diagnosis. It's relapsing-remitting - I should have had a diagnosis A LONG time ago but the doctors couldn't fully determine if I had it and then an 11 year period of remission made it even more confusing. God willing, I'll continue to be as healthy as possible and be around a long time, although I'm already years "over the hill" so I'm on the "back 9" anyways, lol. 🤪
I didn’t know you have MS either and will keep you in prayer. I agree that it’s so easy for us to believe that our illnesses or life situations are because of what we did, and that we are being punished. That isn’t the nature and character of who God is. He loves us, and is right there with us as we go through life situations. We just need to remember that. Floundering is no fun. I struggle with that too at times. Writing out your "diary" probably had healing properties in itself even though they found it "unpublishable". Journaling can help. God's primary directive for our lives is to love Him and love others. I guess if we acomplish that, we can feel a sense of peace. ☮🕊✌🙏🥰❤ I love coffee...I tried a percolator and loved it, until I broke it when I forgot to put water in it and plugged it in (I did remember to put the coffee grounds in the basket at least, lol). I was in the other room and wondered what was burning 🔥🔥😨 Obviously, I was in dire need of caffeine to do that!! lol kind of ironic! I went back to a drip coffee maker with auto shutoff.

Shalom Sara! Your prayer was such a blessing. Hallelujah regarding your kidney test results! 🥳💜I’m so thankful that you are ok! What a blessing! It’s nice when things in the results that are a little off are able to be fixed with lifestyle changes. Back to the fires… I watched a few videos today regarding the California fires. I got really sad earlier talking to my daughter. We were reminiscing about when we lived there and how often fires happened there. The humane societies and shelters are taking donations because so many animals need to be cared for and re-homed. It’s so sad, and I’m praying for the situation 🙏❤️😥 Update on Steve: His pulmonologist called this afternoon about the results of the pet scan. The lung nodule only lit up slightly. He did have some lymph nodes in his chest that are enlarged and lit up. His pancreas also lit up because of the autoimmune pancreatitis. The doctor believes the other issues are connected to his IGG4 disease and doesn’t think it’s cancer, but she is going to have the lymph nodes and the nodule biopsied just to be on the safe side. Please keep him in your prayers. We appreciate and are so blessed by each of your prayers. He’s been through so much healthwise 😢. The other day I prayed for a lady's dog Ollie, he has pancreatic problems, the next day she texted me saying he's doing better. It's important to pray for our animals. (Including Guster and Henry of course)

Matthew 11: 28-30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” I have always wanted to understand, in greater detail, about what Jesus is saying. Here is Matthew Henry's commentary. Matthew 11:25-30, "It becomes children to be grateful. When we come to God as a Father, we must remember that he is Lord of heaven and earth, which obliges us to come to him with reverence as to the sovereign Lord of all; yet with confidence, as one able to defend us from evil, and to supply us with all good. Our blessed Lord added a remarkable declaration, that the Father had delivered into his hands all power, authority, and judgment. We are indebted to Christ for all the revelation we have of God the Father's will and love, ever since Adam sinned. Our Savior has invited all that labor and are heavy-laden, to come unto him. Christ invites all to come to him for rest to their souls. He alone gives this invitation; men come to him, when, feeling their guilt and misery, and believing his love and power to help, they seek him in fervent prayer. Thus it is the duty and interest of weary and heavy-laden sinners, to come to Jesus Christ. This is the gospel call; Whoever will, let him come. All who thus come will receive rest as Christ's gift, and obtain peace and comfort in their hearts. But in coming to him they must take his yoke, and submit to his authority. They must learn of him all things, as to their comfort and obedience. He accepts the willing servant, however imperfect the services. Here we may find rest for our souls, and here only. Nor need we fear his yoke. His commandments are holy, just, and good. It requires self-denial, and exposes to difficulties, but this is abundantly repaid, even in this world, by inward peace and joy. It is a yoke that is lined with love. So powerful is the assistance he gives us, so suitable the encouragements, and so strong the consolations to be found in the way of duty, that we may truly say, it is a yoke of pleasantness. The way of duty is the way of rest. The truths Christ teaches are such as we may venture our souls upon. Such is the Redeemer's mercy; and why should the laboring and burdened sinner seek for rest from any other quarter? Let us come to him daily, for deliverance from wrath and guilt, from sin and Satan, from all our cares, fears, and sorrows. But forced obedience, far from being easy and light, is a heavy burden. In vain do we draw near to Jesus with our lips, while the heart is far from him. Then come to Jesus to find rest for your souls." ..................................................................................................................... I liked his insightful comment, "This is the gospel call; Whoever will, let him come. All who thus come will receive rest as Christ's gift, and obtain peace and comfort in their hearts. But in coming to him they must take his yoke, and submit to his authority. " So if anyone is willing to submit and surrender (taking upon themselves the yolk), the saving grace that comes from Jesus gives us rest knowing that we will never face judgment for our sins. What a heavy burden that was for me when I first heard the gospel in 1978 and what a relief it was to hand over all my guilt to Him who forgives.

There is a podcast I listen to all the time, The Darkhorse Podcast, and the couple both grew up out there, and the wife, in particular, talked about growing up in The Palisades......and she was reacting to the place she grew up being now completely GONE She showed a vid of the library burning up, where she spent so much time, and cried when she described the school she attended being gone up in flames. I ended up in tears. My Dad and Stepmother lived in the area, in several different places around LA, specifically their first home there, in an apartment building on the corner of PCH and Coastline Drive, which is on the Malibu side, right next to Pacific Palisades, just down the hill from Getty Villa. Beyond sad. Thanks for the prayer! Yes, we could all use some body and soul rest, some more than others! 🙏✝

Praying for your kidney function 🫘🫘🫘 Please pray for my left foot. I was changing my shoes in the basement yesterday (while standing up) and my ankle gave out. I injured the outside of my foot on the cement basement floor. I woke in the middle of the night in pain. I've had a hard time getting around today. It is a little better but need a full recovery!! I'm just a big klutz!!! 👣👣

@@Readingthebibletocats I'm pretty sure it's not broken, I believe just badly bruised. I put ice on it right away, soaked in Epsom salts today, wrapped in ace bandage and took some ibuprofen. My husband is around to support me, although, I refuse, of course unless absolutely necessary. I can be so stubborn😝

@@Readingthebibletocats Thanks Sara😊i read some other comments and i'm sorry that you have a kidney problem, i may also! because i have diabetes, type 2, but i feel ok, my doctor told me that i have blood cell increase, and so i'm waiting for a phone call to see a specialist about that, and i'm still taking my meds,and follow up with my doctor once every 2-3 months! and i can't wait for the spring! i hate a long cold winter! ha ha

@Readingthebibletocats I love Guatemalan coffee. I don't have a particular brand because all of my coffee tasting was done at S&D, and it wasn't a specific brand I was tasting because they custom roasted for restaurants, etc. To me, Guatemalan coffee was very smooth but flavorful. I've never tried Blue Mountain. I've heard that Black Rifle is really good coffee. I haven't tried it because, again... I'm cheap 😐! As far as everyday store brands, I always liked McCafe Medium Roast. Not a fan of Starbucks.

@@Readingthebibletocats coffee beans from higher elevations generally are more flavorful and a better quality. A lot of coffees you buy at the store are arabica and the cheaper are robusta, and some are a combination. Robusta beans are grown at a lower elevation and to me are more bitter, and they also have more caffeine content typically. Anyway, Guatemala is at a higher elevation so it tends to be a good quality and smooth. I actually drink Folgers, house blend, it's not bad but they're all expensive right now.

Steve survived his pet scan. We are so thankful it’s done and are praying for a great report. The study of James 4 was a blessing! I agree with your thoughts on what James was bringing forth. His entire epistle is an exhortation for believers to choose to live for God and not to get caught up with the things of the world. It’s a daily struggle, but with the help of the Ruach (Spirit) we can get through our issues. Paul even spoke of this battle with the flesh and the Spirit in Galatians 5:17, For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. James epistle is a hard but necessary truth. He is bold in his presentation and like you, I appreciate directness. I haven't heard the name of a peculator coffee since my parents enjoyed their coffee that way in the late 1960's. It was so good and to watch the coffee being made that way was amazing. I'll have to get a peculator some day. Oh, my friend from Boston, who is a travel tech, said the DC area doesn't plow the snow as efficiently as they do where she's from. So I be praying for you and my friend to have safe travels in that area. When I lived in Wisconsin the snow was so peaceful and muffled the sounds. The study notes are very beneficial. Isn't it wonderful how we can trust God with our lives just by reading how God had Ruth's future already planned generations ahead. Thanks Sara. You have such an amazing channel, even if Henry doesn't face the camera and fulfill his contract - ha.

Now, I love, love it!! How do you like your coffee? Black? Cream and sugar? Unfortunately, I love cream and sugar 😂. I haven’t been out on the roads today and am not sure I will drive in this 😳. Snow softens and insulates the world. I love how it quiets everything. Funny, I've been wanting a percolator for a while. Have you noticed if you use more or less coffee when you make it? Seems like you would use less. Stubborn kitties ❤!
Yes, it really does insulate the world. 🥰. I love, love the percolator! I think I use a little less coffee but the flavors really shine more so than in a drip coffee maker. I also decided I didn’t like the idea of plastic coffee makers. If you do decide to buy a percolator, you might want to ensure that it doesn’t have any plastic parts; I just think the coffee tastes better without plastic. If I can figure out how to do it, I’ll link the percolator my friend purchased. ☕️

@@Readingthebibletocats Thank you! I will check it out. I have looked at them quite extensively and definitely want one that doesn't have any plastic parts. I just love the way they look and it also brings back memories of my childhood. Seeing the percolator, which I think is beautiful to look at, and hearing the little sounds it made always made me happy. I'm also very interested in a more flavorful cup of coffee. I worked for the largest custom roaster in the US (was S&D Coffee &Tea) before they sold the company at the start of COVID, and they gave me a commercial Bunn coffee maker, and it really works great, but it takes up a lot of counter space 😄! I'm just considering the art of slowing down.

The percolator I have is cute and small but I thought the little percolator sounds would be a bit louder; it’s just more of a subtle “perking.” Definitely more flavorful! I really enjoy the study notes in the Complete Jewish Study Bible. That’s a blessing that your church is doing that Bible reading plan. Steve and I have a plan we do each year that we really like.
