The Devastating Consequences of the Cold War
After World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union emerged as the world's two superpowers, The British Empire steadily declined in both size and influence in world affairs, For a time the United States maintained a monopoly on atomic weapons, That ended when the Soviets detonated their first atomic bomb in August 1949, Both superpowers expanded their nuclear arsenals in the 1950s and 1960s, The prevalence of warheads delivered by airplanes was joined by those delivered by artillery, launched from submarines, and by growing arsenals of intercontinental ballistic missiles.

The Sons of Liberty never became violent. They became freedom fighters who kicked ass against tyrants who like to talk crap and mislabel those who defy them and their tyranny by pretending when people fight back that they're violent. Funny how the oppressors can never do any wrong and they're not violent though huh?

Ah, that kind of "behaving badly". And I was wondering if you were going to include "The Tales of Diana and the British Army", and if you were, I was going to be tremendously impressed by your courage. Disney stereotypes die hard, and their fans are mean. However, "Badly Behaved Women" are well worth making videos over - in a good way.

The Tredegar Ironworks once had paid white laborers, but at some point they went on strike. So they were all fired and replaced by slaves. Some skilled slaves could work as free lancers. Some were freed men and made enough money to buy family members, but they couldn't legally free them. Probably the main reason that the US Censuses counted hundreds of black men as slave owners. In general, freeing slaves was frowned upon, and seen as hypocritical to free some or all of your slaves in your will. A northerner who observed the Army of Northern Virginia marching through Maryland estimated that there were about 3000 black men in an army of around 60,000. He said they were completely integrated throughout, and that many were armed with knives, or pistols, or rifles and that many wore Confederate Army uniform items. Many sought sought state pensions years after the war for their military service, but that was difficult as they were never formally enlisted as the white men were.
