So many of the greatest moments of skating have been captured on video. The biggest rails, biggest gaps, everything teetering on the impossible, has been captured and uploaded to the internet.
But there are other kinds of “greatest moments” of skating that haven’t been captured to the degree that they should have been.. Those moments are the ones that happen mostly behind the scenes. The inside jokes with your friends, the banter, the camaraderie that comes from expending way too much effort at a spot together. These moments are what keeps us all hooked on skating. Why isn’t this stuff captured more often?
That’s my goal with this project.
Not everyone can do the best trick, but anyone can have the best time.

Jumbo: 4 the Streets (episode 34)
This was a fun day. I actually filmed this a couple of weeks ago, but after making that 45 minute blade cup video, I wanted to take a break.
Really, I wanted to take a break and not even film this weekend... Buuuut, my friend Freddy White was in town visiting for the week so I forced myself to push past the laziness and have productive fun for the weekend.
The first spot was surprisingly slick. I can't believe all of my younger years of skating were spent not knowing what a rub brick was. It really does change everything. Every potentially lame spot can be transformed into a premium ledge if you spend just a little time bricking/lacquering it.
I wish someone would have told me that when I was younger. So if you're reading this right now and thinking to yourself "I've never rub bricked a ledge," let this be the motivation to go buy one and give it a shot.
The second spot in this one was an abandoned pool.
My crew barely skates ramps, so we were already setup for failure at this spot, haha. It was fun regardless. Just surviving carving around the thing was a trick. I know when you see it on film it looks super chill and built like a skatepark but... It wasn't.
The last spot a lot of tricks went down, but between me not being able to film Michael all day (thanks Michael) and trying to not get in the way of Ant filming for his video, I didn't film that much.
Overall, productive day.
Some days, just leaving the house can feel productive.
I'm happy we were able to do a little better than just that.

Jumbo: Blading Cup
มุมมอง 9Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Oh boy, blade cup. It's been years since I've been to one. Me and the crew usually pick one major event to all mob each year. Blade cup with this years pick. Well, I say "the whole crew," but usually 80% of them bail once plane tickets start being purchased. This however wasn't the case this weekend. It was the first time I've seen so many of my close friends actually bite the bullet and come o...

It has to be the heat that's been getting to us. A lot of the squad was out of town, dealing with work obligations, life obligations, etc... But we still came out for the hottest October day in decades. The first spot is fun, but the wood is so grippy. I'm surprised the bees didn't attack us with how much we were shaking that small bridge. I don't know how Ant skates under rails like they're si...

Jumbo: How to Fishbrain
มุมมอง 3.9K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
"It's the little things that make a big difference." I've been talking about making this fishbrain video for years. There's so many different elements to this trick that make it hard to perfect, but they're unsung. A proper fishbrain is something we take for granted. It's the go-to trick for almost every photo. It's more complicated than it looks. I discuss it in the video, so I won't rant abou...

Massive shoutout to my homie Randy for wanting to make an appearance at the end. We're back!... Sort of. We're off to a start. Not a good start, just a start. Michael has been gone all summer, so it was nice to see him again. Anthony has been in Europe. Some of the squad was in Oklahoma. And we have some new faces as well. Overall, it was a good day. I'm happy to see the crew back together agai...

Great take on soty. The idea of having a panel of judges is a great idea to make it not just a popularity contest. 🙌
can't decide
Breakout - Michael Mueller!
@kevintravers1991 great shout!
Happy tooth is a rapper. That’s his name Check out his tunes
Danny Malm or Cam for SOTY
2024 was the year of the P Rail….this has been said.
Be great to see any of the guys old footage from back in the day 😊
Anthony saying "I don't really watch skating that much" while giving a hard opinion on yearly awards and who should win is certainly a choice lol
I kinda skimmed through this after. Was Alex Broskow even brought up? Have we just excepted that he is the greatest of all time? And doesn’t need a yearly award? The things he did in that new dead video were way more impressive than any ledge dancing. Airs, street airs! Fakie hill bombs!
Great episode guys. Really appreciate your honesty. This year my vote goes for Talbott and Chihiro.
SK is objectively incredible but I've never really enjoyed his skating (not a fan of one footers). And it's not nice to say I prefer CK by a massive margin but I guess they kinda come as a double act a lot of the time so it's not too savage? Maybe it is. Glad they both exist and people really love SK etc. (what Medina says about the community being tunnel vision etc at like 1:08:20 or whatever is refreshing to hear). I'm writing this whilst watching the Mesmer edit playing in the background and everyone in it is so much more interesting to watch. Chihiro is undeniable though, regardless of gender, she's SOTY.
I said I wouldn't use it for the TH-cam video. Also, everyone agreed to them being published!
If yal wanna get into more then just video footage, Nils all the way!
The bladies got busy!
18:51 took that slam like a champion. Bladies all went hard.
Great sesh as usual Jumbo boys & Girls! Also they DO MAKE Great fitting rubber gloves so...
