Soo we know that Alastor was an serial killer and he was killing people for some reason, soo the reason probably is that he was sacrificing people to the demon he made a deal with, and this demon is probably roo since we know that some Satanists like Martha and her family are worshiping roo soo Alastor was offering roo people and in exchange she was giving him something, and that's where things are getting interesting, Alastor knew that he would end up in hell soo he made a deal with roo that when dies she would give him a power to become an overlord meanwhile he would be owned by her, and after Alastor ended up in hell he started killing overlords for roo. Now why she needs those sacrifices? Roo is most likely trapped somewhere in hell by an angels or even god who knows, and we see in her design that she has chains all over her body, soo the souls that Alastor offers her makes her even more powerful and it helps her to broke the magic of heaven, even though it takes long time she still needs it to get out from her trapp, and here we are going to Lilith, since we know that she was preparing heaven for a fight, roo knew that since her eyes are everywhere in hell and once she found out that Lilith was ready to fight heaven only to get out from hell and live in peace, roo forgot about Alastor who after that was in friends with vox, soo all heaven would have a problem since one that they need to fight hell secon they won't be able to hold roo, but Adam made a deal with Lilith and offered her to go in heaven and offered sera to kill sinners every year, soo the plan of roo getting out was ruined and she commanded Alastor to kill vox and sacrifice him to her, but once Alastor was about to kill vox valentino saved his ass soo Alastor gived roo notthing and roo took Alastor for failing his mission for seven years until she came up with idea that daugther of lucifer is a perfect way to brake her chains and she sended her deer to princess. This shows that Stolas was originally planned to be a villain, but in the series that's no longer the case. The boy that IMP killed was never seen nor mentioned again. Also, what I believe is canon is Blitzo using the grimoire for business duties at killing humans, the fact that the same imp boss just stalks Millie and Moxxie, Blitzo having daddy issues, and Blitzo being formally a clown.

Fun fact: in the show when Alastor goes into his full power form is eyes turn black like the other demons who have their soul owned, but when he’s in his regular form, his eyes are red. Does this mean that Alastor is only powerful because the demon who owns his soul is powerful?
