Dying Light 2 -

Earl Klugh,s jazz is a soothing balm for the depressed and broken--hearted

Earl Klugh snatched jazz from the hands of the elites and brought it down to the streets for the ordinary folks. From the exclusivity of elite part-time to the joy of the ordinary man

FOURPLAY X is great with Larry Carlton listen to Twilight Touch if you want to hear the best 🎉
Wish the concert date was indicated...seems like early or poss late 90s...regardless, all had more hair! Seriously, Nathan's improv volcals were top-notch as were Lee's swingin' guitar solos and choice rhythmn play !! Harvey proves his hard, strong and steady drumming by copious perspiration, and BOB probably never swung and improvised his solos any better...he's lettin' his SOUTHERN (MISSOURI) "sulfull roots" shine !! thanks for this concert post...new to me...might be rare !!
Earl Klugh always brings joy through his music
And please don't forget the amazing drummer that guy never stops 😮
What a amazing guitar solo on the lady wants to know I listen to this song every day thank you all 😂❤😂
I tend to agree that Lee Ritenour's guitar work is my favorite in fourplay.... As Larry Carlton once said about Lee's ability... He has so much talent ... And his technical abilities are so profound.. that he's really able to play anything on the guitar.... So although Lee left fourplay...the work that Lee has done since his departure is so extensive ... He has surrounded himself with such top-notch musicians.. like the Lee Ritenour ""Overtime ""...DVD..... And having Patrice Rushen on keyboards.. & Melvin Davis on the bass..those performances were just outstanding!!!.So it has been a real thrill watching Lee's progress up to the present day!!... And when Larry Carlton joined Fourplay.... It turned out to be a blessing in disguise!!....A Fresh new start for the band which turned out to be incredible performances by Larry Carlton!! You have to remember that back in the early1970's..... Larry Carlton was one of the top session guitarists on the scene.... So it was only fitting and proper to have Larry Carlton take over on the guitar in Fourplay...
Agreed. Larry, Lee and Chuck, three amazing guitar players, brought their unique style on their time with the band. Lee's style is my favourite for Fourplay, but I also think that has something to do with the fact he was the first one.
Comparing the 3 guitarists really isn't fair, but subjective if one understands the guitar, guitar music, and guitar technique. Ritenour came out of rock idiom and his playing in the 90's here with 4 Play reflects that. But, not everyone is impressed with rock guitar and its very linear and unimaginative soloing/chord voicings, etc. Ritenour is great in his own realm, but for my money, Larry and Chuck were the more sophisticated, out of jazz/rock-fusion molds. Their guitar work with 4 Play was intricate, accentuated tone, careful phrasing, and more jazzy, less musical scale dissonance-oriented soloing. I relished Ritenour's work in the last 30 years.....I personally enjoyed his earlier Hollywood LA sound and collaborations out there, as another commentator already noted. Lee and Dave Grusin touring has been outstanding.....a review of both artists' song books and famous compositions...plus Ritenour discovered a number of great music artists, including Carlos Vega and Patrice Rushen and others, offer them a place on the stage and tour with him. But, for guitar purists, I'd still put Loeb and Carlton up a rung or two on the musical-skill ladder, but to each his own. Another small gripe is that Lee succumbed to nepotism, by kicking out his African-American session drummers off his tours for his offspring......ugh, you can do that, but at the risk of inviting comparisons and experience and sacrificing judgment .......
MERCI POUR LA MAGNIFIQUE VIDEO!!! KLUGH SE PROMÈNE AVEC ALLEGRESSE, SUR LES CORDES DE SA GUITARRE, TANDIS QUE L' ENSEMBLE SUIT SA TRACE, AVEC MÉLODIQUE CHARME...!!! Directemente de Salvador-Bahia-Brasil.
