เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 ธ.ค. 2020
Hi! My name's Robyn, and I rediscovered my love of reading this year. I've decided that I should force people on the internet to listen to my opinions and ramblings about the books I'll be reading, which include Tolkien, queer romance, Jewish fiction, and classics. As well as the odd psychology book thrown in. I love talking about books, so please comment!

Hi, your video was suggested to me on the side video, and I was surprised that you read Jewish books in these difficult times. It is a good surprise, and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
@@ababaigalit thank you! Jewish books are very important to me, and allow me to feel a sense of community while I live in a fairly rural place. I’m happy it was a good surprise 💛
@@ahobbitsreadinglist As a Jewish and an Israeli, it is a good surprise.
I personally don't punish myself for DNFs. As long as I give it a good try, then it counts. I hope your reads go well. Happy New Year.
@@tibbarasden that is totally fair, and I think that’s probably what I’ll do going forward. DNFs just won’t count at all. Thank you! Happy new year 🎊
happy belated birthday !! hope u have the best of year ahead<3
Thank you so much!! ❤
I’m hoping to read my first Viano Oniomoh Book this month (sweet vengeance)! I’m interested in a few of their books, so I’m hoping I like their writing 🤞🏽
Same!! I'll have to keep an eye out to see how you like it!
Birthday, Hanukkah, and Christmas? I'm taking some presents back.
@@OneEyeOnThePage nuh uh! They’re mine! 😋
I like the calmness that greets me when I click on one of your videos. Some youtubers speak 100 miles per hour and very up-beat/high on caffeine mode, and it is nice to click on your videos and feel like I can just lay on my back in the grass and enjoy the content. Thank you.
@@caspiansvensson oh, thank you so much! That’s such a sweet comment. I’m glad I can help you feel relaxed! 💛
👋
@@tibbarasden 💛💛
For bipoc classics I have modern classics from the 50s-80s I think? Jubilee by Margaret walker, life and times of Micheal k by J M Coetzee, things fall apart by chinua Achebe, a raisin in the sun by Lorraine Hansberry, a streetcar named desire by tenesse Williams
Ooooh thank you!! I'll add them to my list!
I read about 1/3 of The Count of Monte Cristo like 8 years ago and never finished it, I'd like to eventually read it but not sure if I will 😅
That's how I was with David Copperfield. I listened to like a quarter of it, and then didn't resume it until it like five years later XD
Moth is my favorite 🤍
As a November bday girl I’m soooo offended lol 😂
@@natcatsbookishcafe3799 oh noooo 😂😂 I’m sorry! November is wonderful because you were born 😉 As for moth, I’m super excited to get to it!

Hiya, Robyn. Happy Friday, my love. I hope you've had a wonderful week and I hope you have a great weekend. God bless x
Thank you, you too!
I am glad your dad is nice when he picks a book for you. My husband tends to pick long ones for me. Have a great month.
@@tibbarasden that’s what I thought my dad would do when I first started asking him to pick my consequence book. I’m glad he doesn’t lol but he’s also the person that would hear me complain about it, so maybe it’s self preservation ;)
Your shirt reminds me of the graphic novel SHEETS. Love that
Ooooh, I'll have to check that out! Thank you!
I’m starting We Could Be So Good tonight. Hope I love it as much as you.
@@joeyq9953 I hope you do as well! The sequel is also wonderful 🥰
I got leatherface as well and I read The very secret society of irregular witches, which centers around a found family. I could not find one with a family of origin that I wanted to read. Right now I am reading The pumpkin spice café for the prompt "Spoopy". 💚🙂
Oooh, I loved the very secret society of irregular witches!! I've also heard the pumpkin spice cafe is super cute. It sounds like you have some really fun books on your game!
Best of luck with your reads. I hope you have a great month.
@@tibbarasden you too!!
One, the not knowing what 9x50 is...sigh, but also this Christmas, instead of a LOTR binge, it sounds like we should do a horror movie marathon. You know embarrassingly little. Also, it was Texas Chainsaw Massacre that had Leatherface.
It's more that I didn't know the page range that Becca put! LOL a post-holiday horror movie marathon? That'll be new! And yeah, I've never seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre sooooo
I agree with all the points about Milk Fed, but still enjoyed it cause clearly I’m unhinged 😂 can’t wait to discuss!

Best of luck with the chunky books. I have a 900+ and a 600+ book on my TBR this month, so I feel your pain. I am super excited to read the big books I have, so that helps. Have a great month.

I can't believe you didn't pick any patriotic books. I also casn't believe that you're actually reading three books I've read. Usually we only share the Wodehouse books.
Ooooh, which ones? Obviously the Wodehouse and I’m guessing Heart of Darkness. Have you read She Gets the Girl?

Yay for all the queer books you got on your list, especially Gloam 🥰
I saw you read Seraph recently! I’m so excited to get back to this series
I’ve been meaning to get to wuthering heights for ages I really need to get to it soon😂

Your dad sounds like the coolest dad ever. You should be nicer to him.
Welcome to booktube 📚☕
Thank you so much!
Why do you insist upon the Water for Elephant timeline only being 1 year?? I am certain we were still in school when I started harassing you... Super stoked that you're elevating my suggestions though! Can't wait to hear your thoughts while you read Sword Catcher
Time is blurry lol we can upgrade it to five years if you want :P love you!!
I didn't love Wuthering Heights. I am glad I listened to it as it probably would have been a DNF otherwise. I hope you enjoy it more than I did. Have a great month.
I’m very nervous about it because I haven’t heard great things. I’m kind of expecting it’ll be fine to me, not something I love. Hope you have a great month!
Your dad sounds like some kind of weird shut-in. Like the kind who has read probably like 92 books so far this month. What a weirdo.
Best wishes with what you choose to read. I spent most of February reading Dune. I currently reading the Count of Monte Cristo. I might be some time.
I’ve never read Dune! It seems very intimidating
This looks like a good tbr. I haven't read any of these before

I really appreciate the ace rep in Heartsong! Hope you enjoy it :)
Yes! I’m looking forward to that!
I hope you enjoy your reads. Have a great month.
Thank you so much! You as well :)
For psychology you could do a psychological thriller.
That’s very true! I’ll have to keep that in mind for the future
Interested to see what you think of Bonds of Brass. It’s one of the books I’ve had on my GR TBR the longest and really want to see if it’s worth prioritizing.
Oooooh I’ll definitely let you know!
I overall really enjoy the Great Alone. It really isn't too bad to get through, either. Hope you have a great month.
That makes me feel better! I’m always so nervous about family book club 😂 thank you so much!
I've been telling you to read Water for Elephants for far, far longer than a year. At least 5 if not longer
Five?? I can’t really argue with that lol I’ve had the book so long and I know you’ve been in the library so many times so you would have seen it plenty over the 8 years of us knowing each other
Your smile is so infectious:) Also, I have just started Legends&Lattes and I am really excited.
Thank you so much! Legends and lattes is so so fun! I’m sure you’ll love it 🥰
I didn't love Spinning Silver, but I did enjoy it overall. I have never read Water for Elephants, but I did enjoy the movie. I hope you have a great month.
I’m also not sure I’ll absolutely love spinning silver but if I only enjoy it, as you did, I’ll be happy! I’m really enjoying water for elephants! I’m about 70% through, and I think I might watch the movie once I’m done. I hope you’re doing well!
I hope your reads have been going well. Have a great rest of the month
