Anyone who votes blue, votes for this.
shouldve been operation skittles (taste the rainbow)
This makes me so sick, these people make history completely false. Makes me cry, green was Tom Seidschlaw, my mom Toni and Danny and my grandma and grandfather plus. The blacks and some other group Asians stopped all whites and some from school jobs.
I cannot imagine being as petty and hateful as the Governor Faubus, ordering all public schools to be closed and taking away everyone's right to learn just so he could deprive black people.
This country is kicking itself now😞
You can mock Americans for a lack of knowledge of their own history. However many millennial American borne Indian children have no idea of the significance of this day.

I CAN DO WITHOUT ALL THESE INTRUSIVE ADS!!! And these teenagers showed indescribable bravery in the face of horrible prejudice.
Not very accurate at all. Stalin didn't start his personality cult. He actually discouraged it. And Stalin didn't create the Berlin wall, Khruschev did.
Such a stain on our history. We missed a golden opportunity to be great after the War. But nope. Let’s go ahead and be asinine people of virtue.
Thats just weakness

School is like a war -> well yeah but as the only one in the entire world, you had an actual army at your service 😂😂😂😊

Noooooooo
Standing to government tyranny, forcing people to live together is wrong. The so called Civil rights was a insurrection.
Ok racist
America has such a deep painful history.... Reason I don't trust white people till date.
Wait, wait, wait....The GI Bill of Rights? You mean the government that the right wing calls "socialists" helped ensure that people had AFFORDABLE housing??? Imagine that!! Imagine today if we did that for those who are struggling and designed new neighborhoods to help them.
He shoot himself in the head and gave his wife the poison so these is the real sorry which i said
in India there is no mahapurush , India needs a mahapurush to take the country forward & solve the problems plaguing India
What the Nazis did isn't human and that is why war is a necessary terrible fact of life 😔
Those 9 students were beyond brave, I definitely would not have been able to put up with that every day
Stalin ruined the ussr honestly

Altough the nine students had no choice but to attend school, I am still very proud of them. Going to school should be a completely normal thing for a student but this event shows that in a racist society unfortunately it's not. I think this story not only shows racism in the US at that time but also draws a picture of violence and the US's relationship with guns. Not one but two military groups got involved just so nine students could attend school. But in the end it was a very important moment in history and I think we can all be glad that the situation has imprived now.
I think they must have felt scared and isolated, as no one accepted them and they were bullied, even by the staff. The feeling of isolation had to have been strong too, as they probably couldn't interact with anyone aside from their close friend group. They probably felt as if it was the eight of them against the whole world and must have wanted to quit several times. However, they pressed on and finished their education, which, to me, is very inspiring. It is difficult to imagine such a scenario in today's world, but I think it is important to remember those times to prevent history from repeating itself. We should always remind ourselves of how much worse racism was back then and acknowledge the progress we have made, although we still have a long way to go. Edit: Thanks for all the likes!
this was a significant event in the history of the United States. Nine brave students facing discrimination from other students and parents. Despite harassment, they still attended school and set the first step for future generations of students to have equal acces to education. The bravery of these nine is inspirational and reminds one how powerful every single human is. Every single one of them truly is a hero!

muy bien
This must have been a frightening moment for those black students, surrounded by hatred and discrimination. I can’t imagine the thoughts that went through their head in this historic moment, being physically as well as verbally assaulted at every chance their attackers got. What I think is funny is that the governor placed soldiers in front of the school to stop the african american students from entering but Eisenhower just sent 1000 troops to help them get in, what a legend.

My friend's dad died during the airlift. It was very dangerous mission but not as dangerous when they were being shot at.

Forcing blacks upon Whites is sociopathic.
And the white people in the South claim to be ardent Christians. How can they preach a loving God while spewing such hate? Your religion is lie if you can't live it.
Thats not what really happened. There was a unilateral financial reform by the western governments done on July 20th 1948 where new money were put in circulation in the western zone in violation of potstdam agreement. It is as response to now obsolete money flooding eastern zone that soviets closed the border temporarily on july 24th 1948.

Sometimes I wonder where were the men to protect these ladies fro the heckling etc...
It’s really sad to see this and to actually see the A.A. Culture actually not take this serious. These kids, kids had the Balls to stand and walk into school wanting to learn and actually did something about it . Yet 38% of A.A. Do not even have a high school diploma. ?!! 1in 4 are destined to live a life in prison. Gangs, guns, drugs and alcohol take 19% of A.A. Community. These are FACTS. Facts. It’s absolutely disgusting to see this, then on kenginston st. In Philly is an absolutely heartbreaking !
What are the schools like now days? For discipline.
