Tech reviews and outdoor activities, as presented by a recluse. Join me as I learn to be a youtuber. On top of tech reviews, I'll also be going over my youtube creator journey, hiccups, jankiness and all.

Bushnell Tracker A1000L
Hey there! This is the first video for the new Outdoor Gear playlist. I figured separating reviews between outdoor stuff and regular tech might be a good idea, so here we are. The subject of this video is the Bushnell Tracker A1000L 1k lumen lantern. There are 2 identical lanterns in this video for comparison, one with a fairly fresh set of batteries, and one with batteries that haven't been changed in over 6 months with quite a few outings to the lake logged. Here's a spoiler, the main reason for the comparison during testing is to show (not well, it's a janky Techluse video after all...) that the lantern with mostly dead batteries is still usable, just not nearly as effective as having a fresh set. Anyway, enjoy the review! Apologies in advance for it being almost 30 minutes long.

An introduction and an update.
มุมมอง 232 ปีที่แล้ว
Decided to do a video as a new intro to the channel, as well as an update to what's going on. Sorry for the lack of videos over the last year, but rest assured that I am neither dead nor quitting youtube. If you're new here, welcome to the channel, and for those returning, welcome back. Hope your new year is going better than last year. Fun tidbit: this is the 8th attempt to make a new intro wi...
This tablet has what?
มุมมอง 343 ปีที่แล้ว
Sorry for the hour long video. We're taking a look at the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab model YT-X705F, which is a 10.1in 1080p android tablet running android 10 (older models might have older versions of android).
Proscan HD 720P: the review that took 2 months to complete.
มุมมอง 2524 ปีที่แล้ว
Today we're looking at the Proscan HD 720P Action Cam. I am finally glad to be finished with this review. Delays, hiccups, editing hell... it all ends today with the uploading of this review. Going to apologize now for the video length, I tried to cut out just about every empty pause and extra bit of video possible, but it's still over 30 min. To give you an idea of how long I've been waiting t...
Reviewing the channel's new camera: Panasonic HC-VX981k
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Bought a new camcorder not that long ago to replace the vixia hf-r800. I figured making a review on it couldn't hurt. So just how does the Panasonic HC-VX981k stack up to the Vixia? Sorry for the video length. It was a bit too difficult to trim it down any further. As always you can follow me on twitter @Techluse: techluse Or you can join the discord server: discord.gg/dEjTRPw
Canon Vixia HF-R800 review: why canon... why?
มุมมอง 615 ปีที่แล้ว
A review of the canon vixia hf-r800 that was purchased for the channel as an upgrade. Definitely disappointed with some aspects of this camera, and not that impressed with others.
My janky Pentax K3-II review.
มุมมอง 2875 ปีที่แล้ว
I really wanted to increase my video and audio quality. That just didn't work out this time. I'll keep working on it. This video is about my daily driver dslr camera, the Pentax K3-II. I know the video is really long... sorry.
Nikon AW130... a totally jank and mistake riddled review.
มุมมอง 895 ปีที่แล้ว
WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS CLIPS THAT MAY CAUSE MOTION SICKNESS. Video also contains lots of mistakes, lots of cringe, and plenty of jankiness. Video is kind of long, so grab a snackrifice. Combining both an outdoor hobby (snorkeling) with a review of my Nikon AW130 16mp waterproof camera. It's totally jank, I know... The AW130 is in fact discontinued by Nikon, and has been replaced with model W30...
Hello, Thanks for the video, when u get a chance, I have a question, my friend gave me a new Panasonic HC-VX981 / it’s been sitting for years. I’m trying to charge the battery, but the battery won’t charge, it will blink red for a little then the red will go off , Do you think maybe the battery shelf life has expired.
thanks for the honest reviw
I LIKE YOU💙
I just bought one for $10. Just to provide video to play with editing software.
is it true that in auto mode the camera changes the shutter speed to even 1/1500 on a sunny day?
Dose the Panasonic HC-VX981 display military time or standard?
Oh well, I finished watching the video part on the bike, yes I agree it looks bad but I still think it might be ok for him, he's not much of a tech guy, he just want to record stuff for himself for when he goes walking in the forest or snowmobiling. But I wonder if the camera will mind the cold and snow, I guess it will be ok if it's waterproof. I don't want to spend too much money on something he might stop using anyway since he doesn't have a computer (I was planning on giving him other stuffs so he isn't only receiving a cheap camera, don't worry).
The camera was 45$ in Canada, I guess it's 32$ USD, so yeah it's pretty expensive here. I bought it as a gift, still I don't think he will use it that much, he doesn't even have a computer so idk why he wants one. Is there a way he can watch and delete the videos without connecting it to a computer?
thanks for this, I just bought this from the pharmacy (yeah they sell tons of stuffs there nowadays), I wanted to know if it was any good.
Thanks for the content!
The vixia requires a powered microphone that has it's own battery.
The VIXIA series needs a powered external mic.
I for one welcome the jank
Most useful review I've found. Thanks a bunch.
Great Video. Very informative.
It does have a boom out though right?
Hey I bought it used and it didn’t come with a battery charger. Can it be charged with a cord?
it can be charged with any appropriate voltage/amperage charger, so long as you have the cord for the charging port. you can even run the camera using a battery bank.
the camera cannot be charged via its usb connector, however.
What’s a good tripod for this camcorder?
just about anything works fine. lots of good tripods can be obtained at thrift stores. i use my dslr tripod because i swap between the 2 devices, so i mounted a quickplate from another tripod on the camcorder. if you want more freedom in adjustability, i do recommend one with a ball head on it.
Great video! Do you dive with it very often? I am thinking about buying one of these and am afraid of getting water into it
yes, I take it with me often when I go snorkeling at the lake. Unfortunately the low visibility of the water where I snorkel doesn't lend itself to very impressive images or videos.
Your videos are very unnecessarily long, please try to keep 'em short. Thanks anyways
