I totally agree with not being so self critical! I try really hard to focus on what I’ve learned from a drawing or painting in case it doesn’t really come out how I originally intended, and that has been a very helpful mindset! I wonder if it would help others to do something similar, if it works for them 💕

I’ve never used Amsterdam. Winsor and Newton Galeria is considered one of the best, if not the best, student grade acrylic lines available. I think Liquitex Basics is a good student line too. Most of my paints are Golden heavy body (my favorite) and Liquitex heavy body, but I say use whatever you like.

Getting new art supplies is the best feeling ever!! I hope you enjoy using these, was fun to see the swatches!

Montana markers are my fave because they’re refillable! I use golden high flow paints to fill mine, but I like that Montana sells refills of their colors too.

Hi, I know this is an older video the first I’ve seen from you, and I’m only at the sketch part where you mention frustration with the sketching being too dark and having to erase some of the sketch. It’s really helpful to use a lighter/harder lead with watercolors because erasing can mess up the paper. But you won’t have to erase the lighter lines that way🤍 Really appreciate the review, though! It’s super helpful to watch them in use and hear another perspective🤍

Aww I love your sketch book. Sadly I'm too busy to keep a sketch book myself ;_; but hopefully I can do something similar. It has been years since I drew on paper as I mainly do digital art. My favorite painting you drew are the landscapes they are so beautiful <3 <3 I hope you do more even if it's not a challenge and just for fun. Have you tried the Stabilo All pencils? I think you would like them - they’re water soluble and write on ANYTHING

Good deal on the blackwing pencils. I like a shorter pencil. That's a great group of supplies. All long lasting and good quality. A great video. New subi and glad to find a talented interesting artist.

I love going to my local Staples and browsing their art aisle and I love those cute sketchbooks too, mine has the mixed media and watercolor sketchbooks and they have the Art Creation sketchbooks too, I was surprised! Nice work!

Lol, I’m the same way, when u buy a lot of supplies it can sometimes overwhelm u when it’s time to actually paint, happens to me all the time. I started deciding what supplies I’m gonna use first and then I decide what subject I’m gonna paint, takes the pressure off of me a lot.
