Being able to research, learn, and write is so spot on. Great episode!
We appreciate the feedback!
great episode!
Thank You - John is an incredible technologist!
Can you share pads specs, I'm considering changing mines but my temps are 67 core / 78 hotspot / 90 Mem, this is with Noctua thermal paste on the core and Gelid Extreme 1.5 all around back and front and and vRM's as well.
Hey I know that guy... great episode!
I think the incident you are referencing is the Colonial Pipeline attack. While 72 hours seems like a long time to notify the public for a piece of critical infrastructure...I believe it is probably necessary to keep those things a little more hush, because you don't want to stir panic that results in more damage. If you recall all over the east coast, every gas station was bled dry of every drop of gas in a matter of hours. If you weren't lucky enough to step away from your responsibilities that morning the news broke and didn't have that much gas left in the tank, then you were SOL until the fuel fleet was able to restock the local distribution of stations...but the fuel fleet's supply chain from the pipeline was never actually impacted because things recovered before reserves ran out.
Great observations. Here is some more official details for those that are interested: www.cisa.gov/news-events/news/attack-colonial-pipeline-what-weve-learned-what-weve-done-over-past-two-years www.law.georgetown.edu/environmental-law-review/blog/cybersecurity-policy-responses-to-the-colonial-pipeline-ransomware-attack/
Loved it! Every bit of it! Only the people who have done tons of work themselves sound like this.
Its call national security. If you had any idea of the information you gave them access to when you downloaded the app, you would have deleted it already. People joke that the CIA is listen and The FBI is stalking people. Tic Tok is doing it with a super computer and catorigizing every single user into select group to target to now give that will 24/7 audio and video montering and you have a national security crisis
“I don’t use TikTok but imma believe everything that everyone else says about it so It should be banned because someone else told me this really horrible thing I’ve never seen for myself” 😂idiots
Yes tik tok should be banned
That hardly takes a software engineer. It's on a level with "stop hitting yourself" and "I know you are but what am I?". I would imagine that these offers are not, in fact, legally binding. So what's even the point of this video? It's so obviously meaningless it doesn't deserve thinking about.
They happen to be legally binding. You can read the case that happened with Air Canada. Search for an article named "What Air Canada Lost In ‘Remarkable’ Lying AI Chatbot Case"
Ironically I was going to mention the same case. As an update; the Judge ruled that the Airline must honor the agreement it made with the man, because they were the ones that "employed" the bot, & therefore it should have known the rules, provisions etc, but just because it didn't they can't say it wasn't our responsibility. He likened it akin to a parent's child- stealing something from a store, & the parent claiming they weren't their parent. These things are not Mutually Exclusive.
When I heard "His local dealer" I thought it was going in a different direction XD
A dealer is a dealer is a dealer right...? 😅
I own an agency that develop these types of chatbots for business, well ours are way smarter than the dealers bot haha
Soooo make a hackathon and test your bots, but to be honest every bot is exploitable
Do you use your own LLM or take a current LLM and modify it to your rules?
Depends on the client, but we do both@@BySixa
nah not ours haha@@mm.786
@@BySixa depends on the business needs, we do both
That quiet interesting. How can it be prevented?
Hire humans to do your customer service. Easy
@@dalehendricks8201 that was not the questions and not helpful. I seen couple aproches i don't know what is correct aproch but: 1 input sterylization and flaging when Somone tryies to break bot 2 i know that on trening phase you can (try?) to fight with jailbroking by giving more empasis on trainibg data and Lea on current conversation But ultimetly the problem is that chat box just completes sentences (quesses next characters) not talking with you
@@incognitoideveloper9608 although those solutions very well might work, I think a much simpler and more robust approach would be to just update the websites terms of services. Why hire a team of software engineers to fix/ maintain the software when you could just hire a lawyer to revise the TOS to state that the chatbot cannot provide a legally binding contract.
Sentient AI maybe? JK lol but seriously the best solution is going to be found in the training side of things. In some way you have to account for pretty much every possibility. Right now the big race is trying to complete a list of what those negative possibilities are and how to train them out of the system.
My personal thoughts here are, education, knowing when to use these new technologies in your business, and practical regulation. If you are wanting to leverage AI/ML in your business, understand the risks before diving in 💡 It'll be a few years before the "excitement" and "energy" start flattening, and the real value applications, that are secure and can be operationalized, start making it to market.
Its not going to matter if its real or not - eventually. Whats going to last us is whether something is good/useful/etc. But there is going to be a period of utter chaos until we find that balance.
