Alice Benvie Gebhart
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 30 ต.ค. 2017
I am a kilnformed glass artist, teacher and shop owner from East Greenwich, Rhode Island. I am a certified art educator and artist. I love to experiment in glass and use the medium as a way of showing a scene, building a memory or simply explore different ideas and techniques. Although I'm not a scientist, I've learned about fusing by experimenting and playing with the materials. I'd like to use this channel to show artists and non-artist the varying ways that fusing glass can be part of their exploration in creativity.
Construction of a Fused Glass Panel by Alice Benvie Gebhart
The title of this landscape is Harmony. The size: 11" x 11" and it is hung using a hidden stand-off system. The process of cutting and fitting the glass pieces together is shown although the thought process and sketches that led up to that step have not. I also didn't film the firing stages and layering that was done. Silver foil was encased in the glass and the finished piece has gold overglaze and a 3-D surface effect.
Hope you enjoy this peek at the beginning stages. More to come.

Jane's airy and sweeping calligraphy lends itself to that of poetry and lyrics, especially the lyrics of this Beatles song: Black Bird Fly. We discussed the placement of...

can you please give us the name of tune playing...its just as awesome as your glass piece LOVE IT ALL
lol, thanks. I'm not sure of the title, I took it off of a roster of tunes.
Stunning!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely lovely. Can I ask about the hardware? Looks like a standoff, but it doesn't go through to the front.
The stand off is glued.
@@glassartist.teacher Thank you, sometimes the most common sense answers can be elusive, lol
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this!! And thank you for sharing your glass knowledge!
Stunning piece of wrk. Can you tell me what you were using glue gun for? Thanks
I am gluing the clear glass strips around the end of the base glass to make a "glass tray". I put all the sheet glass, frit and powder in the tray, dam and fire. The sides of the tray hols it all together so it doesn't spill out.
Wow!!!! Love this!!!! Thank you!!!!
So cute!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing. You could hold the pieces in place with Elmer's school glue.
How cute!!!! Thanks again for taking the time to show me your process. Why the clove oil in the enamel? Do you always add clove oil to your enamels? Also, where do you buy clove oil?
You can use peppermint oil also. I use oil so the enamel stays wet and doesn't dry out.
OMG! I love that. Thanks so much for showing me your process. Your bowls are gorgeous! Simple but beautiful. Kathie from Mexico 🐢
thank you so much
Nice! I wish you would've shown the back where the tea candle sits.
Very Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you. glad you like it.
Fascinating process!

Just found your channel (we are glass fusers) and being Neil Diamond is my favorite I just had to listen. Very nice and glad to see we made it through that and back into "normal" life. Thanks, Tim

Nice work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very beautiful work. Thank you for sharing your process with us.
❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely darling. I would love a couple of flicks. One hanging out in my plants and the other in a mobile. 😊❤
Thanks! Really cute idea! What is the tool you are using to put the tabs in the back of the frame?
Its a framing tool. Not sure of the name, sorry.
Amazing and beautiful!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh my, oh my,,I am so excited to have found you 💖!!!

Gorgeous. I’m new to fusing and just found your channel. Was the suncatcher holder purpose made for you? Thanks for the tutorial.
The stand is made by Aanraku.
Hi. Working my way through your videos but I’d like to not watch all of them at once and have them to explore over time. So, you may have already done this…. Could you do a review and more in depth on programming / using your Wazer cutter? Thanks!
Will try. Thanks for the suggestion.
Very sweet. So many possibilities of motifs. Thanks for sharing.

I have a Wazer waterjet cutter and cut them myself. The waves are sold on my website: www.heritagegalleryri.com
