Kuroda Bushi is a popular traditional Japanese folk song from Fukuoka Prefecture, dating back to the late 16th century. This version is written out for shamisen in bunkafu (tabulature) notation. This version is without lyrics and is suited for beginners. As the range of positions is not very wide and there are no difficult techniques involved, this song is very well suited for absolute beginners.
You usually play the song with a repetition, skipping back to the top after measure 39, but I omitted the repetition in this video to keep the material shorter and easier to work through :)

👀 If the double-string strums are troubling you, just omit one of the strings. If it's two zeros, play the upper one (that's skinny string, easy to play!), if it's a number other than zero and a zero, omit the zero. The extra zero is just there for more "body" - the melody still stays perfectly intact. Take it easy :)
