Hi Hybmwfreak, this is one of my personal cars, so it was put in the back burner for a while as I was hired by a company and could not do my own work or videos. Now that I am opening my own shop, I'll be able to get back to it as well as a few other projects (new videos will begin to pour out Jan 2017). On this build with these mods we're expecting about 220-230 hp conservatively, but with good TQ of about 230 or higher. will definitely keep you posted on the dyno videos and track videos for this car. I could never tell without seeing a car in person, under-structures may be bad and then it's more work. This job was done along time ago and prices change.

Usually you can find a good e30 spec car for anywhere from 15-20k depending on build quality. It always costs more to build from scratch but makes for a better, more suited car (to your needs and likes). Then you have maintenance, track and assorted costs, like learning how to drive it, LOL. :) By the way Carlos does very, very well with his car, check his channel (Carlos Mendez) or his e30 Suspension / Racing Shop (Condor Speed Shop)

+Eddie Gizzi Hello Eddie I'm an independent contractor who does specific metalwork restorations. I'm not affiliated to any of the shops here, other than being hired to do the metalwork, beyond that it's really not in my control, I can understand your frustration but the videos are here just to help show others how to proceed with the metalwork, pricing is up to the shop the work is performed at. As far as costs, I am currently doing restorations at a shop where restorations can reach from 50k to 300k; everything depends on the kind of work, mods, parts hours of labor etc. I welcome your comment but bare in mind I just do the metal work for specialized shops. I do wish you the best with your VW though they are great little cars. :)

John Watkins I'm in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, but booked solid for the next few months, must ad that this kind of work is expensive when done right, I mean anyone could just mask the outside of a car but to get to every rust issue and make sure the back side is fully sealed even after the welding is done is not easy. Some of my clients work outweigh the price of a compatible car without rust. if you look at my site (TZMetalsmith.com) you can see full descriptions of how the work is done, at least you'll have a better idea of what's involved. It's not a kit, this is something I put together using readily available parts but they do sell them too from 2.7, 2.9, 3.0 and even a 3.2 Stroker kits. Ireland engineering, VAC Motorsports and other places, good luck.

It's a prefab for e30's but rather genetic cage, every cage has to be worked on in order to precisely fit a car; also different racing requires different footings, (some 4x6 plates others 4x4 where the cage feet land on the vehicle structure) which have to be made as per race rules and regulations. thanks for watching.

Sad to see you did not watch the video, these are complete, un-warped full butt-welds, which no one else seems to do on jobs like these; made clear on the video. And just so you know, cooling with a wet rag is what warps the metal because it has already over heated... please view the video completely at 56 seconds you see the complete weld after multiple welding passes to complete the bead and the primer there has NO bodywork. it is straight on top of the clean welded metal.

MsSavage321 I did this car for my old job but am getting one to duplicate the gtv-6 race car I did for Alfa Import center :D (it's in one of the videos on my channel) that project is soon to come, thanks for your comments.

Typically, a project like this can be anywhere from 20-100k depending on what you want, the metalwork was done over two years ago and costs (back then) were about 20k, which is cheap for an extensive restoration; then you have mechanical, interior, paint, drivetrain, suspension, etc. you cannot expect to have a set price since every project is different and choices of parts etc. always vary. no1dirtbag I think the parts were from Classic Car Industries (website) only some minor tweaking was done but you always have to tweak and or, re-bend some edges and curves to make a nice fit. Thanks for watching.

+Omar Torrance It's hard to tell, it all depends on the hours needed for a job like that. Every car is completely different in it's rust process and what they need to be done right. If you can find someone to do this right, it may be anywhere from 3-5 thousand to do a good job on an e30; with mild to moderate rust issues equivalent to this one.

It was a custom color sorry, but I do not have a color code for that.
