11:00 incorrect the wheels that are on the 83 were a set of prototype/pre production wheels that were never released or made it to the final production cars, ive never seen another set of them anywhere outside of the 83, the cancelled wheels on the 83 are 15 inch wheels when the wheels on the final production C4 were 16 inch wheels, you will NOT find a set, ever No, the 83 was NEVER taken apart or repainted No, the car was never actually hidden, it WAS parked behind the assembly plant for a number of years mostly because the car dodged the car crusher due to a thunderstorm and the guy in charge of getting the cars crushed didnt want to go outside because he bought a new pair of cowboy boots, he intended the car to be crushed the next morning but by then the mobile car crusher had left, after that the plant executives didnt know what to do with the car so they parked it behind the plant and threw a cover of it, after plant management changed the car was then brought inside the plant and displayed in the lobby with a red white and blue stripes livery for a short while, when the National Corvette Museum was opened in 1994, the car then was moved there and put on display and has been ever since

AFTER THE WAR THERE WERE 5 ENGINEERS AT FORD WORKING IN WHAT THEY CALLED "THE DUNGEON". ON VARIATIONS OF OVERHEAD VALVE V-8'S. ONE OF THESE FORD ENGINEERS WAS AT A PARTY IN DETROIT WHERE MANY IMPORTANT PEOPLE FROM THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY ATTENDED. ALSO AT THE PARTY WAS THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF GENERAL MOTORS. AT PARTIES CONVERSATIONS TAKE PLACE AND THIS ENGINEER WAS TALKING ABOUT HIS WORK AT FORD AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW FORD OHV V-8'S HE WAS WORKING ON. LATER ON THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF GM APPROACH HIM AND SAID: WE HAVE THIS NEW 2 SEAT SPORTS CAR THAT WE WILL BE PRODUCING BEING THE CORVETTE. THE ONLY THING IT LACKS IS FIRE POWER UNDER THE HOOD AND WE THINK YOU CAN HELP US GET THAT FIRE POWER WE NEED. THEY BOUGHT HIM CHEAP AND THIS IS HOW THE SMALL BLOCK CHEVY CAME TO LIFE. IT WAS A FORD DESIGN FROM THE START. EVEN THOUGH I AM A FORD MAN TODAY. I WAS A CORVETTE FANATIC BACK IN THE 1980'S AND IT SHOCKED ME TO NO END WHEN I FOUND THIS OUT. AFTER GM PUT THIS SMALL BLOCK CHEVY INTO PRODUCTION. EVERYBODY IN THE CORPORATE OFFICE WAS RUNNING AROUND SAYING THEY WERE GOING TO KICK FORD'S ASS. ZORA ARKUS DUNTOV WAS HEARING IT EVERYWHERE. SO HE DECIDED TO PAY THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT A VISIT AND WENT UP TO THEIR OFFICES. ZORA SAID THESE EXACT WORDS TO BOTH OF THEM: YOU HAVE A NICE LITTLE MOTOR HERE BUT I WILL TELL YOU ONE THING. HE TOLD THEM: I TOOK A BASE 85HP FLATHEAD FORD AND PUT MY ARDUN HEMI HEADS ON IT AND I MADE CLOSE TO 500HP AND THE LOWER BLOCK TOOK IT LIKE NOTHING. HE THEN TOLD THEM: "DON'T PUSH FORD THEY WILL BURY YOU". IN THE COMING YEARS GM ALONG WITH THE NHRA THEIR HENCHMEN. HAD TO USE RULE BOOKS AND RULES UNWRITTEN TO STOP FORD FROM DOMINATING DRAG RACING.

There is the Sting Ray 63-67 Not a C-2 but a MIDYEAR, Then there is the Stingray 69-76 Not a C-3 but a Shark! and last of all the C-7 Great performance, fantastic interior but other than that....the UGLIEST Vette Yet! Can't wait for the great C-8!

I absolutely love the new C7 Corvette. But just calling it a Sting Ray does not make it a Sting Ray. The original Sting Ray was a styling design used to rebody the Corvette SS. That design was modified for production Corvettes from 1963 thru 1967. You can put lipstick on a pig, but no matter how pretty it looks, it's still a pig. The C7 is arguably the prettiest Corvette in years (and certainly not a pig) but there will only ever be one body style that is a Sting Ray.

IN 1955 WHEN CHEVY came out with v8 265 that was to me the turning point for GM at the time there was a lot for chevy.
