Yeah, it is tough. Atleast we've been able to have some play dates and / or virtual meet ups with friends over the summer. My daughter said yesterday when we were meeting up with a friend that she hadn't seen her in so long she thought she was going to cry. I am grateful for still being able to see friends occasionally in times like these. 💗

Their costs are low and they received scholarships, so I only have to pay $3000 a year for both...and then I claim that on my taxes. I had zero saved for their college!! I am very grateful that we have been able to manage the college expenses. 😊

@@Sew_Country that is amazing! I hope my kids will get scholarships too and realize that local colleges offer just as good a degree as big name schools. I want my kids to not make the same mistake I did and take out student loans!

He is thriving and motivated whereas in public school he was feeling bad about himself and not being challenged on an individual level. I am going into my 4th year homeschooling him. Thanks for watching DFL! Basically, the emergency fund is in a savings account and is there for emergencies only (Like when we had to buy a new refrigerator recently). The slush fund is in a separate checking account and is calculated based on our pay minus expenses for each paycheck. The slush fund you can use as you wish (i.e. funding family outings, buying items from your wishlist, making donations to a favorite charity, putting more towards your debt, etc). I hope this better explains the difference between these two accounts.

Thanks for watching! Yes, every household is different. There have been times where my husband had to handle the finances due to me being sick. But if you are on the same page with your finances as you suggested, I think you can win with your money.

I need to be on a budget like you for the week. That is really good to only spend $100.00 for a week on groceries for a family of 4. I need to do better and start meal planning like you since my husband will be home for about a month after his surgery on 7-17-20.

Setting a budget for your groceries really helps us out quite a lot. I would suggest hanging on to the next three months of grocery receipts to see what you spend and go from there to set your own budget. Meal planning helps too so you're not buying food you don't need for the week.
