This is such a much needed conversation. Thanks for having it. My thoughts on the conversation are that, behind any action the most important thing is intention. What intention does one have behind trolling their parents on social media? Is it to get help? Is it to open up a platform for others to share their experience, as a way to vent ? Or is it as your guest mentioned, a way to just get attention ? When coming to matters such as abuse I truly believe if someone is seeking help there are many steps to take before blasting it to social media, steps which you have mentioned. Often times in my opinion people on social media are just making content. This is not to come across as insensitive to people's pain and traumatic experiences but I think social media somehow creates this desire in us to go viral, to get the most likes and some times the lengths people go to, to get that, are extreme. Because some people's content is based solely on trolling their parents, but the intention is just that! There is no progression to the matter, that is just their content, it is as if they did it one day maybe just as a way to vent and process but because of the numbers they saw it got them, they just kept doing it. I feel it is important to understand that parents are humans first. They have their own flaws,struggles and traumas and before we go on blasting out all those flaws and struggles and traumas to strangers on the internet, we need to ask ourselves how we would feel about someone in our lives making content from our own flaws, struggles and traumas? Social media gives us too much freedom which some of us abuse. But I'm glad there are people like yourselves who bravely challenge such big scary conversations big ups👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 that conversation about social media is definitely needed! Enjoyed this❤🌻🙏🏾
