Please play John Allan Cameron and Roy Payne and
Absolutely beautiful... any soldier past or present would love this.
Beautiful!
Its so sad that Newfoundland men were sent off to war in Europe and suffered such casualties yet never recognized by Britain for their contribution... as NFLD was a British colony then and not part of canada. My heart goes out them and their families .
I never tire hearing you sing and so much appreciate your contribution to the Newfoundland music scene.....I listen to your songs regularly and would love to someday say hello to you and express those feelings.....
Thanks so much for your posting Bud..... I so much appreciate your singing and music...... I watch regularly and I am from the other end of Canada and you have made such a lasting a strong impression on me re Nfld music and song.
Love your song and its recognition of other NFLD performers.. and so touched seeing SIM again. I listen to TRIBUTE TO SIM on U tube almost daily and see many of the family names in the credits and the same names here in your tribute.... thanks so much
Thanks sp much.... great hearing you singing here again...much appreciated .....despite being such distance from you... your words touch my heart !

Hi Bud. I am from Brazil. I liked this song. Thanks for sign my YT Chanel. God bless you.
Awesome singing and video sure makes one homesick
I've told many people, many times, that Bud Davidge should be NL poet laureate.
This man is a Nfld icon! Thank you Bud for your music and influence. Both you and Sim are a real outport Nfld treasure and road map of our lives. Tony Vokey..
This song is so so so beautifully sung and the music background is excellant. I listen to it and it gives me goosebumps. A beautiful song indeed., thank you Bud.......Jerita
lovely vivid song and true story for sure.... I noticed at 1:02 there is a old iron boat in the background where is this located,?/ wow interesting and what is story behind this old ship I wonder. 100-100
I need a request for mainland kitchen band by bud davidge
That’s as good as it gets.
This song brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it sung . WW1 as well as WW11 required a huge price to paid by the men form Nfld . Its sad and Canadians everywhere must hear the truth of what was expeirenced by these men !!!
Battery Christmas
This song brings tears to my eyes.... as so many Newfoundland men died in a war that Britain had engaged in and took the Newfoundland men from a British Colony ( as it was then ) as fodder to the front lines . We should never forget this and the horrible price paid by the Newfound men in their forced act of Patriotism to England .
John Duravetz Newfoundland was an independent country in wwI Not a colony
We are still batteling with the British legacy here in Ireland Song so touching as our good people in Ukraine are batteling through the horrors not only their extraordinary brave soldiers but every Ukrainian national person from newborn to the oldest Ukrainian person wherever they are in those truly awful unnecessary times so many hearts are bleeding
Didn't something like this just happen again recently? relocating.
I wonder what island he moved from? Anyone know? Growing up in Nfld, I did always like the old island places
wfiemale25 9 years ago The Picture/House he is singing about is My Uncles and my 3 cousins. From Back in 1961 (i think) The house is being towed in from Silver Fox Island to Dover, Bonavistia Bay
Thanks Bud...... you bring the reality of life in Newfoundland for us to feel and hear the details of what had taken place..... immense feelings expressed and for good reason ! People should be told of this tragedy more often and with the details you expressed.
Great song to remembers those who made the greatest sacrifice for ones country!
One of my favorites Bud. A classic!!!
as bad a premier was hes better of than us HE HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL.
Beautiful song, kind of sums it all up, what resettlement did to the people of these communities, and they are still trying to resettle people.

The absolutely very best song for every July 01 in NL....including this year 2016 the 100th anniversary of BH. This song penned by Dr. Davidge is light years ahead of the recent song commissioned by the CBC and written by local big name Celtic performer. Congratulations to Dr. D.......let's call requests to CBC for this song!
