Sat on the back of the tour bus with them all in Denmark after a gig talking with Fish about this album & listening to stories from the road..this was years back, but the first FoF reminded me of that whole evening..Cant thank him & the band enough for that night of glorious endulgment.🐟
Wow, I love this extended version. Today I picked up Script for a Jesters Tear and B'sides Themselves on Vinyl from my lovely local Record Market Stall. Hearing little rarities like this warm my soul 🙏
This long version is horrable for all ears. Fish and Marillion is ferfect music. These kind of long... extended... special mixes are a hit in the face for all fans - sorry
Always loved this and with the extended version it’s even better - one of the greatest songs ever, nothing from today can even begin to match the quality of the best from the 70’s and 80’s.
I will throw it out there and put my neck on the FUCKIN BLOCK HERE … if GENESIS AND PINK FLOYD HAD ABKID IT WOULD BE MARILLION ALL DAY LONG AND NOW FOR THE SECOND COMMENT..!STEVE ROTHERY IS UP there ALL DAY LONG WITH .. HIS MAJESTY DAVID GILMORE …….OH BY THE WAY .. Fish is the GUVNOR 👍
People often say Marillion are a poor man's Pink Floyd or Genesis but with all due respect to those two fine bands they haven't created music that is much better than Sugar Mice
I feel the same love for this album and especially for this moving song, as I felt 34 years ago. I was buying the 12" EP, and pictures discs, so I own this slightly longer version. I imagine the character that Fish impersonates, a man who's lost a lot. What a beautiful, heartfelt melody, what a magnificent guitar solo ! I remember attending a concert of Marillion in July 1987, when the album was released. A great, quite moving concert, at least in my memory. Fish has a special voice not everybody's cup of tea, but he sings with such emotion and a sense of drama, such delicacy or power. His lyrics were really splendid and Steve Rothery and the whole band were at the top of their game at the time.
Nice recording.... Thanks Favirute song for many years
One of my all time favourite guitar solos
This music is very beautifull.

For all the men who've had their children taken from them, either legally or illegally, and struggled to live.
