All throughout my childhood and teenage years l would listen to the Weather Channel before bed, the soft, sultry notes soothing me, carrying me off to the Land of Nod. Weather Channel Music is inextricably linked with my earliest memories in the late 80's, all the way up through the glorious 90's. No other music brings me greater peace.

one time i was at kmart and we were sittin outside by the smoke spot and den my buddy kyle took a used cigarette out da ash tray and he started smokin dat used cig n shit and i was like ew dude that is nasty so he sterilized it by lighting up the filter and i was like oh cool

1996. The year I got my first job at Burger King. Sophomore in high school. My best friend was still alive (passed away late last year from cancer). Had a girlfriend who worked at Blockbuster Music and would tolerate my weirdness. Matchbox 20 was my favorite band. Internet was a cool new thing where I would search for some weird ish. After work I’d go bother my friend at Funcoland, often bringing him a chocolate shake from BK. Life was so good, and I didn’t begin to appreciate any of it until years later.

I'm neither an American or anything nor was I born at the time when this was the default layout, but I miss the old TWC and I want it back. The music is what brought me to liking weather and would love to see it in TV one day! I don't like the current direction the channel's going at myself...

If only in some way to travel back in time rather then my mind.

My sweet grandparents (born in the early 20s, so from a VERY different era) didn’t have cable TV at their house, so I was stuck with whatever was on one of the 12 channels (4+ were straight static), and PBS kids programming concluded at 5pm, so many an evening was spent at grandma and grandpa’s kitchen TV watching Local on the 8’s. Good times.

I remember as a kid watching the weather channel for exactly what is shown in the beginning of the video - SNOW STORM!! Hope for school closed!

I will never forget Kmart and the atmosphere it had. Im a 1987 kid and remember this one christmas shopping day i dunno from what year, maybe it was 1989 or 1990 and my mom and dad bought a Yamaha PSR3 keyboard for christmas. they were playing together. I do remember the nice alleys in Kmart and the kind personnel.

I know this is probably dumb, just reminds me of a little kid, walking around in our Kmart with my dad, killing time & waiting for my step-brother to get dropped off by his mom. I truly miss my brother, and it brings back good memories.
