Skagway is beautiful! I was there this past June. We didn't ride the train, but instead went over White Pass in a motorcoach tour.

Just spent 7 weeks in The Yukon and Alaska. Whitehorse is a great city/town. To the naysayers, You will be a loser no matter where you go.
