3 Estate Planning Tips You Must Know
Make sure your wishes are honored, and your hard-earned assets are protected for generations to come. Special guest Estate Attorney, Ryan Knight, Attorney at Law at Knight explains 3 Estate Planning Tips You Must Know.
KEY LEARNINGS:
1. The Importance of Having an Estate Plan
Did you know that almost 70% of people pass away without any estate plan? Without a plan, state laws and the courts decide who gets your assets-and it may not be what you want.
Creating an estate plan keeps you in control, specifying who gets what and when. Even simple planning can prevent unintended outcomes and ensure your loved ones are taken care of.
2. Understanding Estate Planning Options
Estate planning isn’t just about having a will-it’s about how assets are titled, beneficiary designations, and powers of attorney.
Learn why having a will alone doesn’t guarantee all your assets go where you want them to. We'll explain the difference between probate and non-probate assets and share a shocking real-life example of how a lack of planning led to unintended heirs.
3. Planning for Incapacity
Estate planning also means preparing for potential incapacity, not just passing away.
Having powers of attorney for finances and healthcare, a HIPAA release, and a living will are vital. Without them, your loved ones may face costly and stressful court processes to manage your affairs if you’re unable to.
THE GOAL OF THIS VIDEO IS TO HELP YOU GAIN:
- Clarity & Control: Gain a clear understanding of what estate planning really involves, and how to keep control of your legacy.
- Avoid Costly Mistakes: Learn from real-life examples of estate planning gone wrong-and how you can avoid the same pitfalls.
- Peace of Mind: Protect your loved ones from lengthy legal battles, unnecessary costs, and unintended consequences by planning properly.

No don't come here
Don’t come to Tennessee if you think you’ll ever need medical cannabis. All of our politicians are incompetent
you put too much into that first 6 months... 99% would just wait 6 mos to 59.5 its just too complicated
I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
@@AlilatTiamiyu That's actually quite impressive, I could use some Info on your FA, I am looking to make a change on my finances this year as well
@@EliaszPass My advisor is *MARGARET MOLLI ALVEY*
You can look her up online
@@AlilatTiamiyu The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?
It’s so awful here in Tennessee. Don’t come. Go to Texas.
Thanks
Do they get half or just up to $1,200?
Stay the hell out of Tennessee. It is full of liars like these two here in this video. They are only in it for the money. Not the betterment of Tennesseans!!!!!
Please stop advising more to come to our beautiful home. We are more than full.
We have it great here you guys stop! You're going to get a bunch of people and it won't be rural any more. You don't want to come here, bugs, we most all go to church, the fish have all been caught, some people don't mow their grass , we have cows, and since we're to air out our laundry, many, many of us are CAT lovers! Stay home!
Let me sum all of these $X at X age videos up for you. If you have $1M in 401k you can retire anytime you want if you have zero debt and live practically. Period.
Your sales tax is prohibitive.
On a scale from 1 to 10 if you move here I will hate you forever
Withdrawl?
Right? This misspelling was in more than one place, too. Not confidence-inspiring at all.
When are they going to get rid of the state flag that looks like a modern day confederate flag? 🤔
I’m worried about retirement planning and I want to ensure a comfortable future. I’ve worked hard my entire life and I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor without financial stress. I’m really concerned about whether I’ve saved enough and invested wisely.
I completely understand. Ensuring financial security in retirement is crucial. Have you considered consulting a financial advisor?
Yes I have. But I don’t know who exactly to trust to provide the right advices and guidance for me.
True. I have been in contact with a CFA that specializes in retirement planning. His expertise can help optimize your savings and investments.
Who’s this CFA? And how can I reach out to him?

More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire without any investment. Retirement becomes truly fulfilling when you possess two essential elements: financial resources and a meaningful purpose in life. Make prudent investment choices to secure good returns and ensure a comfortable retirement.
It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of compound interest and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.
@RobertsArthurs I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day-to-day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.
@@WaleraSchildhauer I appreciate the implementation of ideas and strategies that result in unmeasurable progress. Being heavily liquid, I'd rather not reinvent the wheel, thus the search for a reputable advisor, Do you mind sharing info about this person guiding you, please?
@@JeffreysSuttons Finding financial advisors like MARGARET MOLLI ALVEY who can assist you shape your portfolio would be a very creative option. There will be difficult times ahead, and prudent personal money management will be essential to navigating them.
@@WaleraSchildhauer I greatly appreciate it. I'm fortunate to have come upon your message because investing greatly fascinates me. I'll look MARGARET MOLLI ALVEY up and send her a message. You've truly motivated me. God's blessings on you.
God, no! Most people get malaria about every year, and nearly as many get bit by poisonous Copperheads, Cottonmouths, and Timber Rattlers. Most survive, but they're never quite the same. Proof, you can live with only part of your brain.
Don’t even think of coming here, we are full. You’re NOT welcome.
Thank you! That’s my BROKER at Beacon Capitol!
No Vacancy Go somewhere else.
I am a five generation Tennessee. West Tennessee is hotter and flatter than the rest of the state but cheaper. We have plenty of room But Yankee money is driving the prices way up.
NO! Says ouzy orman! You need millions more! Nope! Forget it. You need to work till you drop! Now quit posting this nonsense and get back to work!
Buy and hold rental owners have been retiring early for decades. No way I could've put up with corporate nonsense long enough to save enough tho.
Stay away
As someone who has been on Medicare for several years, I had not considered that non-W2 income would affect my IRMAA calculation. Due to the unexpected sale in 2023 of a prior company I worked for which paid out options, I realized I have a one-time income increase that will put me in a different IRMAA bracket for 2025. Thanks to your tip in the video, I am going to research the waiver option to see if I can reduce my 2025 Medicare premium back down to the base rate. Worst case, I at least have a heads up on the potential premium surcharge for 2025! Thanks for your videos you produce, I often learn a nuance regarding retirement or investment planning that I had not considered, especially when new legislation change the rules!
Stop coming to TN. You were silent and docile when your cities were taken over. DONT COME HERE

Memphis is a great place for people from other cities. Move there.

Ice storms are a bitch
That’s what I said about Florida when I lived there
Miami , Inland 1955 home 3/2 5000 sqft lot , flood zone ( 3 water pumps in the backyard because we flood with any afternoon rain ) , taxes $5835 Insurance (never a claim in 20 years ) $4267 Flood insurance $1423 A lot of Floridians are buying in Tennessee .
Please for the love of God stop moving here.
Everybody here is as dumb as nine chickens. ....
The government will take 400 dollars a month of your hard earned money for no reason. Yet by the same token if a politician retires after serving only one year in Congress, he receives a million plus for the rest of his life even without contributing to the ssa. If that's not theft, then I don't know what is.
I’m no expert. So explain please why the later retirement analysis assumes the client is not working until 67 and they have to draw out of investment account
